Changes in Store for Disney's Hollywood Studios
 
Coming in October 2008 will be the recently announced “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” and later this year, the Studios will host the annual Night of Joy event for the first time and welcome back ABC Super Soap Weekend. Next year, the park will unveil The American Idol Experience, host the first Grad Nite events and welcome back ESPN: The Weekend and Star Wars Weekends. Other changes in 2009 will be the elimination of the daily Fantasmic! shows. Fantasmic! will be performed two times weekly –generally Mondays and Thursdays - and more often during the busiest times of the year.

New Reservation System Upgrades Coming t0 Walt Disney World
 
The Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed  a new reservation booking system is in the works for dining, recreation and tours, allowing travel agents and guests the ability to make these reservations online. As a result of the upgrade, effective July 29 through late October, guests will be able to book dining reservations up to Jan. 25, 2009 arrivals. In late October, booking processes will return to normal, allowing guests to book up to 180 days of arrival. The official launch date for this enhancement will be announced at a later date.

"Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends" Ending
 
The interactive live show, "Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends", will go dark on September 27, 2008, after a ten year run at Animal Kingdom's Camp Minnie Mickey. Walt Disney World has not released any replacement plans for the amphitheater at this time.

Two Character Meals Being Discontinued
 
Disney Dining has confirmed that the lunch service at Epcot's Garden Grill will end October 5, 2008. The location will be open for Dinner only, starting October 6, 2008. Also, being eliminated is Goofy's Liberate Your Appetite Character Dinner at Magic Kingdom's Liberty Tree Tavern. This popular character experience will be discontinued January 5, 2009. The final offering will be January 4, 2009. Guests with current reservations should call to make alternative arrangements. Pleasure Island Clubs Closing in September
 
Disney has announced that the nightclubs on Pleasure Island will close by September 28, 2008.  8 Trax, The Adventurer's Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, BET Sound-Stage Club, Motion and The Comedy Warehouse will all give a final curtain call at that time. Disney Imagineers have unveiled a new vision for Downtown Disney, which will include new shopping, dining and other experiences. Also planned are numerous enhancements to popular Downtown Disney locations.

Parks Fill the Sky With Fireworks on July 4th
 
On the fourth of July, Disney's Hollywood Studios will join in the evening fireworks fun with a special holiday show prior to Fantasmic!. Magic Kingdom will treat guests to the "Concert in the Sky" display with patriotic music and "bombs bursting in air". And Epcot will present its acclaimed "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth." show with a special holiday finale. Downtown Disney will present July 4th fireworks at 10:30 p.m. for the revelers, shoppers and diners enjoying the nighttime entertainment district. The special nighttime shows are included with theme park admission.

Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian Attraction Opens This Week

Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian, an all-new soundstage attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios, officially opens Friday, June 27, 2008. The attraction offers an in-depth and unique look into the making of the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" "Guests and fans alike will be drawn into a different world as they enter the Narnia portal," says Dave Hoffman, art director for Walt Disney Imagineering. "By using audio and visual effects with multiple surround screens, we immerse guests into The Chronicles of Narnia like never before."

Book Candlelight Processional Packages Today

The dining packages for the Candlelight Processional go on sale today, June 23, 2008. The packages include a meal at select Epcot restaurants and special reserved seating at the American Gardens Theater. There will be three daily showings from November 28 through December 30 at 5:00, 6:45 & 8:15 PM.
