Myself – 44 loves all things Disney – 11th trip
DH – 46 loves Disney about a notch below me
DD – 14 loves Disney about the same as DH
DS – 11 mini me in “getting” Disney

I realized this morning that we did 4 parks in 2 days.. we had done this on previous trips but it felt much more tiring in the past. I think because it had been more crowded...

My son really wanted to eat at Chef Mickeys since we missed it the last time. This was the only time(7:15 a.m.) I could get for this day. Not great planning on my part following an EMH but it was fine.

The food and interaction was good. Its great to see my kids pretending not to care but then you can see them looking around wondering when the next character will come! Another great thing is watching their reactions when they watched the little ones responses..

We decided to go back and take it easy for a bit since it was going to be another late night. My DS and I both manage to get a morning nap in :cloud9:

We took off for Epcot around 11:30 and of course we were hungry again! We ate at Electric Umbrella.. food was okay. I didn't like my Caesar salad but the others thought theirs was fine.

Headed over to Soarin, got FP and then went on the land. It was only a short time for our FP so we went on and loved it.. We got off and the line was only 20 mins so did it again!

As we were waiting I had heard the CM mention the space shuttle and the fact we could see it. I more or less forgot about it and then as we headed out towards Club Cool to meet the boys, I heard someone yell "there it is, there it is" pointing to the sky. I will tell you, that normally this type of thing doesn't excite me but seeing it was awesome!!! It was a big orange ball by the time I looked up and kept going and going until it just disappeared into the orbit. Very exciting! My DD wasn't as thrilled as I was but did ask me questions about it the rest of the day.. DH and DS missed as they were in Club Cool

Headed over to TT which we rode a couple of times and then back to the Poly.

We took the boat over to MK and talked to some nice Colts fans and discussed the game.

I love the MK during the day, but at night its really something special. Walking down Main Street with my family listening to Christmas music is pretty great.

Another good dinner at Liberty Tavern, not crowded at all but we did miss the characters in their colonial garb. I also LOVED the butter! I kept eating mash potatos and slathering it.. it was very sweet. My DH was teasing me saying on your trip report are you going to say the butter was your favorite meal??

We walked out and noticed Spectro Magic was ready to get started. We waited for it and it I could cleary see it affected my son. When the music started he leaned over and hugged his sister he was so excited (he calls it giving him the warm and fuzzy feeling). So great to see since they are fighting half the time!

My daughter bought a "bubble" gun and kept using it in lines etc.. She said she was spreading happiness... It was funny seeing peoples reaction when all of a sudden there were bubbles appearing and they didn't know where they were coming from... people do love bubbles!

Did Thunder and Splash.. 2nd time on Thunder it broke down so we got free FP for any ride at MK until Nov 30th. Nice gesture.

As we headed over to Space Mountain, hit Snow White and Pooh and the kids rode Dumbo for the first time ever!

Space Mountain posted a 30 min wait, asked if we could use our new FP but they said don't bother.. it ended up being a walk on!

I'm really not sure I saw a difference except the queue. I probably don't ride it enough to notice.. still pretty bumpy etc. The kids and DH loved it and rode again a couple of times.

Went to Buzz Lightyear and I got 720,000! yes you read that right! I hit something that gave me 500,000 and I was on fire... I jokingly asked for a prize as I exited and they just smiled and nodded as to say "move on lady"...

Hit the bakery on the way out (not crowded) and made our way back knowing that we only had 2 full days left but we didn't have to get up to an alarm...aahhh...

Tomorrow - Downtown Disney, DisneyQuest and MVMCP

Overall impressions

Space Shuttle - probably a once in a life time sight and glad I saw it
MK - Asked the kids where they think was a good hiding place so I could live there.. got the eye roll!
My kids - So fun to see them watching the little ones.. I was worried they were getting too old to enjoy but like seeing it through others eyes.. made me proud and happy

DH – 46 loves Disney about a notch below me
DD – 14 loves Disney about the same as DH
DS – 11 mini me in “getting” Disney

We had reservations for Donalds Breakfastsoraus which was new for us. We got up to our 6:30 wake up call and it was tough but totally worth it. If I do say so myself, I did a good job planning this day!! (patting myself on the back).

We arrived at the Tusker house and it was a long line for pictures so we decided to forgo the picture. We had a friendly waitress from S. Boston so we chatted with her a bit... Service was good, food was very good and lots of choices! Interaction was great and the family was in a great mood despite the early hour.

I wanted to be at the park when it opened since we don't always have the best luck navigating this park. I like to consider myself a great Disney planner but this park gets me everytime.. Not today! We were at the rope at the safari at 9:00 exactly. I had just mentioned to DH how it wasn't crowded and he said "look behind you" lo and behold a couple of hundred people were coming our way only controlled by 2 CM and a rope.. Kinda of scary! Our rope dropped and we were in the first truck! We hadn't done the safari the previous 2 visits. It was quite enjoyable.

We headed over to EE for FP but didn't need them. We all went on and I don't love it but like to do it once. The kids and DH did it again and then the kids once again! We then headed over to Dinoland for the Dinosaur ride and the rest. Went back by EE to get a frozen coke and the kids went on 2 more times!

Frozen cokes and the Tough to be a Bug.. Love it!. Then to Kali Rapids for 2 rides in a row. The only bad part was the 6 year old sitting near my daughter who proceeded to cough and cough on her without covering his mouth. His parents were too concerned about getting wet to say anything..it does come back to haunt us..

We leave the park happy and satisfied and there is a bus waiting for us!

We have other friends that live in the area and they were coming over to visit. Had a great time hanging at the pool with them talking about future retirement in Florida... We got CS at Captain Cooks and everyone was happy!

It was EMH at the Studios and DH was going to stay and watch the Patriots game however he made the wise move and came with us...

No signficant wait times and we did R&R, ToT a couple of times. Walked on the Great Movie Ride and then went to see the Osbourne Lights! not disappointed! This has been a goal of mine for the past several years... so exciting and so great!

As we left, we realized we didn't hit Toy Story Mania, but we were tired and it was getting close to closing time. Another bus waiting for us and off to the Poly. Got some dirty looks from my family when I told them we had a 6:15 wake up call... oops:blush:

Tomorrow - Chef Mickeys, Epcot, Space shuttle, MK EMH

Overall impressions -

AK - Best visit we have had at this park. I always feel like I'm wandering and not doing anything. We took it slow and steady and had a bit of a plan so everyone was happy

Poly - Hanging out at the pool was great, it was pretty quiet. We also had a leaky tub in our room and they were very nice to make sure they fixed it around our schedule

Studios - love the atmosphere! We were walking in as everyone was coming out.. DH first EMH experience kept saying are you sure its not closing??

Osbourne - Love it! Disney and Christmas are my 2 favorite things.. funny to hear Christmas music when its so warm but it was still great!

EMH - wish they did wristbands as its kind of a pain always showing are room keys (of course because I'm the holder of such things!)

My big sis and I went to WDW last week and had a ball. For two old ladies, we did pretty well.....

Arrived Tuesday (Nov 10) We got the PERFECT room at Pop Century in the 80's building. Ground floor, facing a parking lot, and VERY quiet. We were a short hop away from the bus stops – a big thing after a tiring day in the parks.

We headed to Disney Hollywood Studios for the debut of the Osborne Family Christmas Lights. Fabulous, but I still miss the houses on the backlot tour. After the lighting, we tried to find a place to grab a bite of dinner. It was only 6:30 p.m. and I suggested we try Backlot Express. To our stunned surprise, we found it had closed at 5:30 p.m. With a whole park full of people, they were shut down???? We headed back to our resort where we grabbed something at the food court. I know all about getting ADR's, but I simply can’t know ahead of time what I will be hungry for and what day I will be in which park.

Wed (Nov 11) – It was HARD to get out of bed. We had walked a lot the night before, and the stress of traveling hit us like a ton of bricks. Weather was overcast and rain was predicted for later in the day. We headed for EPCOT and arrived at park opening. We rode Soarin’ and my sister LOVED it. I never get tired of it. We got FP and rode it again after Living with the Land.

Got lucky at Living Seas when we lined up for Turtle Talk with Crush. This particular CM did a wonderful job interacting with the kids. I never laughed so much in my life when Crush was asking one child if his mother had laid eggs in the sand like turtles do. A little girl piped up that they cut her mom's tummy open. The look on Crush's face was priceless - TMI.

After scoring some popcorn, we headed back to the hotel for a much-needed nap. We returned to EPCOT that evening, this time touring World Showcase. Light rain and cold air was settling in, but we had a nice dinner at Tangierine Cafe and then took our tired old selves back to the resort where we crashed and burned.

Thurs. (Nov 12) – Dragged ourselves out of bed and headed to Magic Kingdom for early entry. Weather was rainy, gloomy, and cold, but we soldiered through. Had best lunch EVER at Kona Café with REAL coffee. We hate Nescafe Coffee - yuck and double-yuck. My sister tasted it for the first time, and you would have thought she'd swallowed a toad. We both enjoyed the Kona coffee at lunch, and wished we could take a gallon or two back with us. After touring the deluxe hotels to see their holiday decorations, we headed back to the hotel for a nap. That evening we went to Downtown Disney to shop for souvenirs. It was great and we truly enjoyed walking around. Weather was cool, but the rain had stopped.

Fri. (Nov 13) – We’re actually feeling pretty good today – feet, legs and back have finally stopped hurting. We went to Animal Kingdom – weather was beautiful and we truly enjoyed our half day there. My sister's favorite attraction was It's a Bug's Life, with the Kilimanjaro Safari a close second. We caught the bird show - always a big favorite. Had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ with a stunning view of Mount Everest. Our pork sandwiches were a little on the fatty side.

After our nap in the afternoon, we got up and went back to Hollywood Studios to catch Toy Story Mania - a FABULOUS ride and one my sister raved about. Weather was cool, but pleasant. Great way to wrap up our trip.

Sat. (Nov. 14) – got up and checked out of our room, then headed back to Kona Café for a great breakfast with REAL coffee. Took a boat ride to Wilderness Lodge so my sis could see the unique interior.

Got lectured by the captain of the boat for sticking my arm outside as we cruised along. I was wearing a poncho that the wind caught and made it look like my arm was sticking out of the boat. Felt bad because he was really glaring at me, but didn't feel it was worth it to argue with him.

Had a nice walk around the pool area where the local ducks had settled in for the day. Got back on the boat (same grumpy captain) and headed back to our resort to wait for the airport shuttle.

A truly memorable trip!

Cast of Characters:
Me: Julie, Planner and organizer.
DH: Fred very good sport!
DD: Morgan age 9 Lover of all things fun and fast.
DD: Madison age 8 Loves the characters, rides and ALL of the gift shops!
We will be celebrating the girl's birthdays while we in Disney too.
Morgan turned 9 in October and Madison will be 8 on December 1st.

Resort: Pop Century for the first time!
After much debate between Fred and I, we decide that our girls can only miss three days of school, so this is going to be an action packed short trip.
We are taking a night flight out on Friday evening from Newark Liberty and hopefully will arrive in Orlando at 10pm. Once at the Pop, it's a little time to unwind, and get to bed as our plan is for Saturday up and early for The Magic Kingdom. I know the parade is filming, so we need to get all the things we love packed into the morning, early afternoon hours. We have an ADR at the Crystal Palace for 4:45pm.
Sunday: Hollywood Studios and hopefully some pool time.
Prime Time Cafe at 7PM
Monday: Epcot 8am Breakfast with the Princesses (the girls still enjoy this so) and 6:30 Teppan Edo.
Tuesday: Animal Kingdom and O'Hana's for dinner. Maybe the MVMCP. I haven't bought the tickets yet, but still may.
Wednesday: Magic Kingdom until 2:30, then it's back to the Pop to catch the Magic Express.
I'm excited that we are able to go back this year. We have never seen Disney in all of it's holiday splendor.
I got really sick on our March trip, and Fred is taking us back so I can enjoy Disney. I feel very blessed on so many levels.
I will post trip reports when I return.
