Campsite Decorating
I am wanting to decorate our campsite for halloween and have been watching some videos on it and trying to google some information on it and it seems to be hard to find. Are there rules to this? what days are most appropriate for doing this. We check out on halloween so I am wondering if this is worth doing or not, for the rest of our trip prior to halloween. I have seen that they have a pumpkin carving contest, a parade, trick or treating at the campsites, and a campsite decorating contest. Is there going to be a way for us to get ahold of a schedule for these things to know ahead of time whether or not we will be able to participate in them and be able to prepare accordingly?

You should contact the Ft Wilderness service desk in the lobby (Telephone: (407) 824-2900) to see if they have any requirements or schedules. I love it when my friends camp in their RV and I go visit them with all their decorations. They are so festive.:blackcat::bat::pumpkin::ghost:

We were in the cabins last year a week before Halloween and really enjoyed all the decorating of the RVs and cabins. I say go for it!

We were at FW for Halloween 2006. The campsite decorations were great. I think you would enjoy joining in. It's great fun riding around in a golf cart looking at the sites. They have a Haunted Carriage ride - you need to call and get reservations for that at WDWPLAY. The pumpkin carving winners were announced at the Campfire Program that night, however. ( the entries were spectacular). If you are checking out that day, you would miss the awards. We went to the movie double header (Legend of Sleepy Hallow and Pirates of the Carribean). Everyone there received a ziplock bag of candy delivered by a "special guest" - In the event it might be the same this year - no spoiler. I was glad we did not go to a park, but participated in the activities.

We were there last year for Halloween and there were no "rules" for decorating...just use common sense :mickey: They will give you a list of activities when you check in and I highly recommend the golf cart parade and trick or treating in the campground. It was THE BEST Halloween ever! Trick or treating lasted well past the set time and it was awesome! The people and decorations made it an unforgettable time for our whole family.

We always enjoy seeing the decorations for both holloween and christmas. It is amazing what people do. They decorate their camp site more than I have ever decorated my house. Some bring seperate trailers full of nothing but decorations.:mickey:
