I don't know if there is a specific time when the new flight schedules get posted. Perhaps someone else with additional Southwest experience will be along soon but it's been my understanding that when the open up the new flights is open to change.
I'm in the same boat waiting for the spring break flights to be released. I have been watching Delta and that has been averaging $900 and up. Happy flight hunting tomorrow morning.....
I am pretty sure it is midnight. I forgot when I had to book for our Thanksgiving trip and by the time I went on at 6 am there were no more senior fares left for my Mom or any other discounts. It was cheaper than the other airlines and I love the no bag fees.
We're booked! :party:I checked Southwest online at midnight and schedule wasn't up. I tried at 6am through about 6:30am (eastern) and still not up. I decided to call Southwest and the agent said it would be a few more hours before the schedule was available online.
Here's a helpful piece of information. They were able to book me over the phone when I called at 6:30am, before the website was live. We were able to book Wanna Get Away Fares. She said these would be the same price as online because there is no online sale for this date range yet. I purchased 9 tickets and prices rose while we were booking. The last three tickets were $30 more.
So what I learned today is to call when the schedule opens, rather than wait for the website. It is possible that by the time the website goes live, people booking via phone have already purchased the lower priced seats.
Hope everyone else planning their spring getaways :mickey:were successful this morning!
Kept trying this morning and then around 8:30am the prices came up. They were still running about $587 a ticket so still more than we would like to spend. Have to keep watching for deals otherwise it will be a road trip.
If you are looking at flying over the next 6-8 keep in mind that late August there tends to be a drop in fares and prices. Also, fuel prices are looking to continue a steady decline over the next few months, couple that with the DOJ's investigation into collusion among the airlines and you may see a 5-10% drop across the board.
