I would love to do a Color Run. Wanted to do one this past May; but DD16 had a softball tournament.
That is a bummer. DH is trying to figure out a way to get out this. LOL

I did my first "over 5K". I did the Galloway method and also cheated a bit on the steep hill but RAN across the finish line!
I got my first medal!:cloud9::bmedal::puck:
Mario Lemieux 6.6K! We got to watch practice afterwards. Pictures are on my facebook.
CONGRATS!!!
Glad you made it thru it. What a feeling!
Hills - cut back your pace and shorten up your stride more from your normal run pace/stride.
Don't even think about it as cheating! You made it and FINISHED IT! As long as you had fun and listened to your body and adjusted as needed all is great.
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to share a new find. I have been a fan of the Feetures! socks for some time now and every time I would shop at the running store and was looking at socks, the sales clerk would recommend the Feetures! Elite socks.
I would just basically blow off the recommendation (since they cost a little more than what I was getting) but last weekend we went to Luke’s Locker and I got yet another recommendation so I did it! I purchased a pair to see what all the hype was about and I have been really happy and just wanted to let you all know.
I am currently running in the Feetures! Elite Light Cushion - No Show Tab socks. They also come in an Ultra Light style which is good for you out there who like a really thin sock. They are designed to be right and left specific and there is some extra “umph” around your arch area that just works for me.
I got these at $15/pair. I am sure the price tag is a turn-off for some. I only have one pair and I wash them after every run (5 times a week), so you really don’t have to invest a whole lot of money if you don’t want to. Since I am logging a lot of miles, the quality of my run is of great importance and of even greater importance is my recovery. If a $15 pair of socks helps give me that edge to prepare for the next run… well, I’m in.
So, YAY! :D
NEXT – This next product is not new to me but I wanted to share - I have used these for the last 2 winter seasons. I love them, and they are one of my absolute favorite things: Manzella Vapor Gloves. They fit well (come in men’s and women’s sizes), are light weight and just the perfect amount of warm for a cool run in my area (Austin). Sometimes I don’t need a long sleeved shirt, but just having that little extra for my hands makes all the difference. They run about $25/pair, I have seen them at Academy and Sports Authority but once you determine your size you can likely find them for less online.
So, there you go – these things are working for me - just thought I would let you know...now I need your advice.
I am looking to purchase a pair of compression calf sleeves for recovery- possibly to run in, but I do not know what brand. Do you have a brand you like?
Wishing everyone healthy training! 90 days until we are there…whoa. :mickey:
My DH bailed on me so I did not run the Glow Run. But after talking to a few people last night at the Lansing soccer game; it sounds like it was a mess. Very unorganized and not very well lit. They couldn't see where they were running and probably wouldn't do it again. Bummer. I did see pics on FB and it did look like fun.
Still debating on whether to do Lisa's Run at Myers on Saturday morning. She was a teacher/friend who died of brain cancer a few months ago.
Had to check in. I had a good day despite having a bad day. I woke up after only 4 hours of sleep with a bad sinus headache. I finally got back to sleep and when I woke up again I had aches in every joint. This happens to me sometimes on rainy days. I've been to a rheumatologist who ran a lot of tests, but nothing came up. He thought I might have fibromyalgia, and to come back if symptoms worsened. It may be time to go back. At any rate, I purchased the Jeff Galloway 10k app and was set to run for 75 mins today. I pushed through all the pain and logged 5.45 miles at a 13.44 pace. This is my longest run yet. The app is great. I love his encouraging voice. And it helps me keep to the ratio. Before the app, I'd run further/longer when I felt good but by the end I'd be spent. I felt like I still had some left in me today which gives me the confidence that I'll be more than ready for the Minnie 10k!! Thank you thank you thank you for all of your tips and encouragement.
Hey All. I've been away from the boards for a while but I am back and excited to say that I am running the Marathon in January and will be looking for ways to stay connected/inspired. That's why I turned here. I am super-excited to be running my first marathon in WDW (where else?) and I am looking forward to checking in and keeping up with everyone. Just wanted to say 'hi!' :strong::strong::strong:
 epcotnut! Welcome back! Good job on the training!
Just curious if anyone knows when the course will be released. I realize that it's the same as past years, but I always like to get the "official" word. This would be for the full.
