The campfire singalong :mickey:
Since I am heading there in a week or so, I was re-reading this thread.
I love driving the golf cart around and just looking around Fort Wilderness. I think every time I am there, I notice something new.
I enjoy renting the canoes and having a little nature time with my daughter.
I love that I feel safe and feel my 7 yr DD is safe.
Lastly, I love the memories from the countless trips there!
havent camped there in many man many years.. but my last trip i wanted to re-live my childhood memories. So we went to the HDDMR and then immediately after walk out onto the beach and watched the electric water pagent. so awesome!
We went around Christmas and Dh and DS favorite thing was riding around on a golf cart at night, looking at the Christmas decorations and looking for deer near Pioneer Hall. The cabins are our favorite place to stay, love the peacefulness of the area, after a long day at the park.
We love:
1. The decorations that many of the RVs put up during Halloween and Christmas;
2. The great opportunities for running along the various paths;
3. Sitting on the front porch by Crockett's, enjoying a beverage;
4. The Segway trail ride!!
1. All the sidewalks and trails you can go on.
2. The holiday decorations on the RVs.
3. The campfire sing a long and movie.
4. DH and I stayed in the cabins on our honeymoon so it always reminds me of that trip!:thumbsup:
The Hoop-De-Doo Revue!:thumbsup:
After this past week there, my DD7 loves the Sing-a-long and movie each night. She liked that there were old and new movies.
The semi-private sites. Watching Wishes from the beach as well as the electric light parade.
Well, it has been 30+ years since I have camped there, but these are the ones I can remember from being a tot.
1. The vibrating Big Al chair at the restaurant
2. The plane/helicopter game that flew in a circle that you had to make go under bridges and other things.
3. The railroad rock carriage out front of the trading post. You could scare your family with the foam ones they sold inside.
4. The petting zoo/horse rides.
5. Getting banned by our parents from Fort Wilderness during happy hour. All kids got sent to the Contemporary to wreak havoc.
6. Chasing armadillos
7. Campfire sing-a-long and marshmallow roast
There is so much that I love, FW is half the experience for me at WDW,unfortunatly my DW hates camping
One thing I love is very small;waiting for the launch at the docks first thing in the morning and seeing loads of beautiful dew-filled spider webs along the rails
The radically different laid back feel that permeates the place....it is by far and away the most relaxing place to stay in WDW.
That's easy!
The people I stay with when I stay there!
Well, I LOVE camping!!! So this is easy but there are so many reasons to camp at disney:
1. location
2. beauty of the grounds
3. reprieve from civilization ( and theres so much of that at disney that its soooo nice to just kick back!)
4. No Stacy playing in my room! I dont like those shows. by day 3 shes on my nerves!
5. We can all shower at once, which makes prep time about 20-30 min!
6. location
7. Quiet!
8. The people that stay there are soo super nice (not that other people at other resorts arent but camping hosts pretty much the same kind of person almost all the time)
9. The baby pool!
10. chip and dale campfire
11. You can lie down at night and hear the MK fireworks and if a party is going on, sometimes you can hear the music at MK
12. I love the animals that are so friendly
13. the price. this allows for our large family of 7 to attend disney world more than once a year and we are very thankful for that but without all the other 12 things, it wouldn't be what it is for me.
