:ill: seems like it would be too cold to swim seeing the temps down there at night. Are the pools heated to a warmer temp? We are going the first week of January and my group is asking me :mickey:

There were some brave souls in there during the day time but I never saw anyone in at night. It's heated I am told to 84degrees but you still have to get from the pools back to your room! My dh said no way when I asked him to go in the hot tub :( he even went as far as to plan a route back to our room but it was just to far. We were in AKV.
Typically, you'll always find some brave soul who gets in the water, regarless of the air temperatures. They remind me the water is heated but I always retort "Yes, but eventually you have to get out" If it's too cold, I pass!
We were at AKL last week. It was cold all week, but yes, there were a few people in the pool at night. Daughter and her boyfriend stepped in the pool for a minute or 2, and then high tailed it to the hot tub. Are room was right by the hot tub and access door that led right to are room.
we were in 'the world' last year, from dec. 11-18th and we swam during the day, no problem. We stayed at Fort Wilderness/Beach club. The campground pool was very warm and enjoyable. there towards the end of the week, it was really too cold to swim but me and the girls spent 4 hours in there one day. I think their pool is warmer bc of the sand, at the bottom. We took our things to the bathroom by the pool and got dressed, at both places. This makes it decent enough to get in and out, without getting too cold.
It really depends on the weather. December is so iffy!
I saw several people in the pool at AKL last week when it was really cold. On Monday when I was leaving which was probably the coldest day in the 30's with the wind chill there were people in the pool. I guess if you can brave the walk back inside the pools are heated.
The pools seem to always be busy.
My kids have been swimming when it's really cold at night. Although, I think Canadian kids have no feelings when it comes to cold.
I'll use the hot tubs no matter how cold it gets, when you get out your so hot you don't freeze getting back to your room.
we've seen folks in the pools when the temp is in the 40's...we won't brave it unless the temp is in the 60's
When we were at CBR the first week of January the temps were in the low 30s and there was a family in the pool after 8pm. We first noticed the little boy running around the pool in just his trunks.....very very cold and windy....woo!
we are all staying at pop century, wonder if i should ask for a poolside room?!? i never stayed in the 60s area so i hope they put us there. we paid the extra $ for a preferred location so maybe i can request it. i think i may swim when the rest go Downtown.
When the temps got down in the 30's at night it was really nice to get into the warm hot tubs. Even they were almost empty most of our trip. The pool tho it was heated was alittle too cool for me.
We were there last January for the marathon when the temps were in teh 20's and people were swimming.
