Did anyone notice that the train station sign in front of the park is different? "The" has been dropped now it is just Magic Kingdom. Other signs changed as well. I don't think this is really a name change but I wonder why "The" was ever there to begin with. Wasn't always Just Magic Kingdom?
If I remember correctly from my youth the parks original name was "The Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort". Though until EPCOT was built most guest simply referred to it as Disney World. Honestly, I don't remember guest referring to it as the Magic Kingdom until the 1990's.
Anyway, if they have dropped the "The" then Disney is probably just trying to align the name with the rest of the parks at Disney World.
