Default Do YOU remember Orange Bird?

Does anyone out there remember Orange Bird? He was a Disney Character and icon for the florida citrus growers back in the 70s and early 80s I believe. He even had a toy line sold in the parks. If you recall anything about him do tell. I was quite young but remember he was pretty popular. I believe "sunshine terrace" has still kept its name and relates to this character somehow.

I loved orange bird. I still have an orange bird bank around here somewhere. He was a cute little orange bird, lol. I don't remember where we bought him. We use to spend the month of July in Florida every other year when I was growing up so orange bird could have come from anywhere,

Wow - that brought back a blast from the past. I vaguely remember seeing him on orange juice containers - maybe? I was really young at the time. I'm going to have to google him and see if I can find a picture.

I somewhat remember Orange Bird. I do remember what he looked like and that he was on OJ containers. I had a little PVC Orange Bird figure that I loved as a child. I don't remember him as a character in the MK.

I have an Orange Bird. He is about two inches high and made of plastic. I bought him at WDW in the late 70's. He sits in my curio cabinet.
    What a flash back.

I just got back from the World last week and came home with an Orange Bird pin and an Orange Bird canvas tote bag. I bought it in the America Pavillion in Epcot. I was so shocked to see it. I had to have it. I used to have a Orange Bird bank but do not recall where it disapeared to.

He looks a little familiar, but I'm not being assaulted by a wave of nostalgia for him, so he must not have made a huge impression on me. He's cute though. I do remember drinking OJ from a plastic orange with a green straw.

Apparently, Disney still owns the rights to the character. They just introduced the Orange Bird merchandise in February of this year, per the Disney Parks Website, but they supposedly introduced the character in Japan (not sure if Japan in general, or just Tokyo Disney) a few years ago.

Somewhere in on of the boxes I haven't unpacked yet, I have an Orangebird bank.

I think I may even have a glass mug with the Orangebird logo.

When I was in Anaheim in April, I bought an Orangebird pin at the pin trader cart at Downtown Disney.

For those still in search of merchandise, try the Co-op store at Disney Springs, got myself a cool throw pillow there. Thanks Disney!!!
