I sure hope they don't get rid of the Deluxe DP for 2009. That is the only way we can afford to take our DS to all the character meals for his first trip to Disney! I think it would be great if they had 3 differnt plans, then you know at least one will fit 99% of guests.

    Question

What's the difference between the Basis and regular Plan?

I guess I'm the first to voice an opinion of dissent.

It looks ridiculous to me. I guess I kind of feel like the CBR is a bit of a sanctuary of regularity, a little tropical but not extravagant. I’m just glad that when I saw the article the pirate refurbs didn’t include all of the rooms. If we do pirates and Nemos then what’s next? A Swiss Family tree house loft at Aruba and Tiki Bird bungalow at Barbados? We’ll have the Caribbean Character Resort. Tacky.

    The Basic Plan is:
1- Table service meal per night
1- Counter service meal per night
    1- Snack per night

    The Deluxe Plan is:
3- Meals (your choice table or counter service) per night
    2- Snacks per night
    1- Resort mug per person

The new plan they are considering is:
2- Counter service meals per night
    2- Snacks per night
    1- Resort mug per person

    Hope this helps! °0°

I always wanted to spend the night in the Swiss family tree house, sounds like fun. They would have to include the skylight though. Imagine falling asleep in WDW looking at the stars.

I would get the new dining plan. One reason we never got the other was we didn't want to have a sit down meal every night. I wonder how much it's going to be?

Our family thinks these pirate themed rooms are the coolest things we have ever seen! We so badly want to stay there when they are complete, and we're keeping our fingers crossed for family suites since there are 5 of us! The new dining plan is a nice option...we like at least one sit down meal/day while we are in the world..its nice to sit down and be served after a tiring day in the parks so I don't know that we would go for the new plan personally..but its a good option nonetheless!

Actually I agree. I'd rather it not take over the CBR however

Kathy at MJ just booked us the room for our stay with our son in Feb 09! It's only more expensive if you get the water view room!
    More excited than you know!!!

I did not think the new rooms were opening until the Fall of 2009? The CM told me mid September 2009 when I called for ressies.

Wow they look really cool- we are planning a trip for Sept 2009 at the POFQ but maybe I will switch. My son would love this room.

Yeh I think there needs to be more clarification about the dining. By the time I go hopefully it will be all cleared up.

Yesterday morning, the CM told Kathy that reservations were not being accepted for pirate rooms. But I was looking at the website last evening and saw that you could make reservations for the rooms. So I called Kathy who then called Disney and they confirmed that they were accepting ressies for the pirate rooms. I didn't think they would be ready either, but apparently that changed.

    Those rooms look SO cool!

I think I would stick with the original DDP, if we go in 2009, as it would be nice to eat in restaurants that I wouldn't normally

I just saw some of the room pics for the Nemo rooms on another site and they are very subdued. I was expecting Nemo everywhere overpowering the room but he is actually only found scattered a few places on the bedspread and in the small boarder that circles the room. There is no other sight of him anywhere. Maybe they are not as bad as you think? I agree that the pirate rooms will be much more immersive in their theming but the Nemo rooms are very caribbean and bright, not tacky IMHO. Maybe you'll like them.

I believe you can put 6 in a room until your baby is 3 and/or out of the crib.

I guess you are right. I never really thought of that. Although the though of all six of us crammed into one room is a bit much. I think that two rooms might be a bit more comfortable but we'll see how we do this year and go from there. Thank you for the heads up!!!
