Pirates & Princess Party 2009 - Cancelled?

Interesting Q&A on the Mom's Panel concerning the 2009 Pirates & Princess Party. Is this true???

Q: You all are so helpful! I have read on other sites that there is going to be a Mickey's Pirate and Princess Party in '09 but read on an answer that there isn't going to be one after all. Has it been confirmed that there is or isn't going to be one yet?

Parades & Special Events We have been told that the Pirate and Princess Parties that had previously been scheduled for the first half of 2009 have now been canceled. If you have already purchased tickets to this event, you should call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY to inquire about refunds.

I don't think it's been officially announced. But I don't think it looks too good for P&P in 2009.

Oh no! I'm so disappointed! We went in February but I was sick and couldn't fully enjoy so my Dbf was taking me on a special trip in May and this was what made him finally agree on Disney. Oh, well. He's excited about the trip now anyway so if it is cancelled we'll have a great trip anyway.

I noticed a schedule change in MK for nights that had been announced as P&PP. I figured this was coming.

We went in 2007 and 2008, and really enjoyed it. I thought the fireworks were much better than MVMCP. I hope they do have the P&P again in the future

I just looked on the Disney site and it isn't showing up under Special Events, nor is it showing up on the days it's apparently scheduled.... It LOOKS like not only is it cancelled, but that it never existed!!! I mean, there's not even anything saying that is IS cancelled. Who knows, I guess the best thing to do would be to call.

Bummer...just bought DS his pirate costume yesterday in preparation for this in May. Oh well, I can still let him dress up one day in the parks. He doesn't know about the costume - it was going to be a surprise!

I just called Disney and their official statement is that they can not confirm or deny any information on the MP&PP for 2009.

Anyone else get anything different?

What a bummer! Can't wait to find out what others hear about it. We already purchased our tickets for March and extended our stay one day just to attend. My brother was waiting so much for it!! He will be so bummed out!

To be honest, I am not surprised. We loved the party 2 years ago, but it is a lot of work, creates lots of jobs, and is lots of money. I would imagine, they weighed it out and found it not to be economically feasible......sad though, it is a great experience!

Some people were able to get them from signing up for the marathon in March.

Oh no!! I was so looking forward to going! I hadn't been to it before, and was planning to buy tickets for March. I even did a mid-week to mid-week, so that I could stay late on Friday.
