    Default Voided Check

I am to send DVC a voided check (when my checks arrive).

Is this used for automatic payments, or for some sort of credit check? I don't see anything about it on the website, just being able to pay the statements online.

Yes I am new, and will need to make my first payment soon.

Thanks for all your help in advance!

The coding along the bottom of your cheque will provide Disney with the bank, transit and account information necessary to set up an Electronic Funds Transfer.

Will this be automatic payments, or will I need to go to the website and make my payments?

Sorry Morgan, I have no idea. I would assume that it is for automatic payments, but I am not sure.

Perhaps call your DVC rep first thing in the morning?

We will see. My checks need to arrive first!

Maybe someone will come along with experience. This DVC stuff is all new to me!

Not an expert, DH and i are newbies too. We were told they needed a voided check for the account information to have the payment electronically debited (don't know if that's even a word, i'm sure it's spelled wrong if it is) out of our checking account. If you financed, you get the lower interest rate if the payment comes right out of your account. i guess they figure there's a better chance of them getting their money.

Alright, so I'm not hallucinating that! That sounds very familiar.

I can call my guide in a few days if I need to.

    Thanks everyone!

Yes, it's for auto-debit of your payments. If you choose not to have them taken automatically, you'll pay a higher interest rate.

You send in a canceled check for auto debit.
Usually the auto debit is for the anual dues, not your purchase of DVC... unless something has changed in the last year.

You can go online to mydvc.com and pay your dues in a lump sum with a credit card too.

Having just submitted our paper work last Friday I know paying your monthly fees for purchase payments and dues can be done by automatic wire transfer from your bank. The interest rate is 1% less to use this feature and no interest for monthly payment of dues option.

You are right Kay, but they set up the draw from the account through the bank and did not ask for a check for that part.
The only time they asked us for a canceled check was to do the monthy maint. fees. For some reason they will not draw that from a savings. Any idea why?

OK, that explains it! I was wondering why you had to send a voided check and they had a paper you filled out with all the routeing and account numbers, they must go to 2 different departments. Silly me, I just thought it was a case of overkill.

DH and did everything over the phone and through the mail. On the contract we got we just had to staple a voided check to the page rather then fill out the bank info. It's not for our maintenance fees it's the monthly payment for financing the original purchase that's going to come out of our checking acct. We were told we can go online to pay the maintenance fees. Maybe it's different when you're not on property.
