    Default Expedia + Dining plan?

I'm not thinking of doing this, just asking out of curiosity... if you booked a package through Expedia.ca, would you be able to add the dining plan by calling Disney? They offer park hoppers tickets + water park through Expedia but no dining plan option... just wondering

I have no experience with this. Hopefully, someone will come along with a better answer.

I have booked thru Expedia before during free dining and it was added but I didn't seem to have any option for adding on waterparks and more. We were just going to add it on when we got there but didn't end up needing it. I don't know if you could add the dining plan on when they aren't doing special promotions with it. It wouldn't hurt to go through the booking process to see if there was a place where you could add on and then just not finish booking it (adding credit card info). Maybe you could add the dining plan once you got to Disney during check in? I'm not sure...

No, you can't add it yourself. If the Expedia website allows you to book the Disney Dining Plan, then that's great. But if there's no way book it through Expedia, then there's no way you can add it yourself.

The DDP isn't available as an a la carte add-on to a reservation, it must be booked as a Magic Your Way + Dine reservation from the get-go. If you book through a travel agent, you don't legally "ow" the reservation, and therefore Disney won't even talk to you about your reservation, let alone make any changes to it. In other words, until the moment of check-in, I have as much legal right to call Disney and change your reservation as you do ... which is to say, neither of us can do it if you book with a travel agent.

And you very specifically CAN'T wait to add the DDP at the time you check-in at your resort.

Now, it's a totally different story when it comes to adding entitlements to your park tickets. Once you check-in, you can add anything to your park tickets that you want ... the park hopper option, the Water Park Fun & More option, the No Expiration option, additional days, and you can even upgrade it to an Annual Pass. And the good news is, all of these upgrades will cost you EXACTLY the same after check-in as it would have if you booked the ticket that way in the first place.
