    Default Characters getting teased?

Has anyone ever visited Disney one time and witnessed the unfortunate event of a character getting teased by less respectful guests? Like some of the male characters who wear tights/stockings, has anyone ever saw any of them get picked on for that? It probably wouldn't be AS bad if the guests were more playful with it and joked about a character's weakness, like Captain Hook and his fear of a certain "tick-tock", but we as guests and lovers of the magic still have to be respectful to the characters and accept them for who they are.

I've never seen this from a guest, people seem to play nice from what I've seen.

On a slightly related topic at a character breakfast at Donald's Restrauntasaurus in 1998 (I was 8) we did once see Goofy sneak up behind Pluto and tie a knot in his tail! That was really funny.

Later that breakfast Mickey tried to throw me out the fire exit because of an incident with the Mickey Mouse Pancakes... luckily Donald Duck came to the rescue and pushed Mickey out. We've all made up since.

Sorry these are slightly off topic, I just like telling these stories

I've never seen any guest be disrespectful toward any character. I'm glad about that.

"No ham, cheese, and tomato sandwich?"

Hmm, I take it you watched the old "House of Mouse" cartoons. Very clever reference! I like that there are people who know that one.

Oh, people are brutal to the characters. My uncle is a Sports Medicine doctor in Orlando. A HUGE percentage of his patients are "characters" at the various theme parks. More specifically, Disney. You wouldn't believe the types of injuries he has seen that were caused by guests...

Whoa... A little harsh I must say. Simply teasing the characters verbally is one thing, but getting violent with them?? Oh me oh my... Walt Disney, we need you!!!

Yeah, people get violent with them. It's sad, really. My uncle says it is mostly older teenagers, but occasionally adults too...

Closest thing Ihave ever done that might be considered mean is walking behind Donald and whistling the Mickey Mouse Club March. It was great, He played his character great and flew into a classic "Donald" rage. I loved it. One of my best/fondest memories.

Now THAT'S teasing the characters in a more acceptable manner, just being playfully mischievous all for fun rather than menace.

Years ago at DL my youngest son (about 6 at the time) was teasing one of the Three Little Pigs. All of a sudden he noticed a shadow come over his head. He looked straight up into the mouth of the Big Bad Wolf. He was off like he'd been shot out of a cannon. Great moment he hears about every once in a while. Mostly while I tell his kids.

Pulling on any of the characters, hitting etc. is not acceptable and not OKAY.
If you watch youtube you can see some incidents of characters being abused by visitors. I think it's awful and they really should be escorted out of the park...but no they then blame the character for the behavior.
The person who was talking about the mickey mouse march while walking behind Donald...that was hysterical I love that!! That is harmless fun That is OKAY

I have NEVER seen anything like that. I do realize it goes on though. If I did witness behavior like that I would probably be the one escorted out (and to a holding cell waiting to make bond), after pummeling the perp into the pavement!! Sorry!! I do not tolerate bullies!!

I haven't seen anything happen, but it doesn't surprise me one bit. I feel that kids are becoming more and more aggressive as years go on. And so many parents (not all of them) tend to care less and less.

I totally agree. My SIL is like that with her mom sometimes and her mom does nothing about it. It's like parents aren't teaching their kids respect anymore. I'm a young mom but I would never let my kids get away with hurting someone or being mean and rude. It's not how I was raised and it's not how my children will be raised.

That IS quite sad, it's as if those kinds of parents grew up in a terrible period of time where all manners and respect for others have become extinct!
