    Default Contemporary Tower........

Has anyone stayed in the Contemporary Tower rooms, and if so, what did you think? My family loves Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge, but we have never stayed in the Contemporary.

The rooms are beautiful although there isn't a lot of counter space in the bathroom. It is very exciting to be right there in the middle of things. We were afraid of monorail noise, of which we didn't notice it at all. What we did notice...ALOT....was the noise from Chef Mickey's...all the signing and screaming...we were on the 7th floor and were awakend EARLY every morning by people enjoying themsleves. If you are not an early riser...I would not recommend the Tower. Although it was a dream for us to stay there....we would never book a Tower room again because of this!!!

it was the greatest 4 nights of my life!
the contemporary has always been a dream resort of mine..and finally got to stay there Sept of 2008 for my honeymoon..i was in complete heaven..we had a MK view..we were pretty close to the chef mickeys side..down that way..we never heard that much noise coming from there..granted we were on the otherwise and not directly above it..so it was only loud when we actually stepped out of our room and we were in the halls and what not..
the room itself is a pretty decent size..has a computer there..there was also a mini fridge..
the bathroom doesnt really have much counter space but whatever..i LOVED it there..and hope to go back again one day!

That's good to hear. My family and I are considering the CR for our trip next May. We figured we would splurge a little bit this time. We stayed at the WL last time. With my son being 5 and my daughter being 2 1/2 when we go, we thought staying there with the monorail right there and the view of the MK would be exciting for them.

I liked the Contemporary. It's not my favorite but it's still very nice. The rooms are good sized and we had an MK view which was really neat. We found that the Contemporary has more the feel of a regular hotel than the other resorts do. That's not necessarily bad (the decor is very nice) but it just has a different "feel" to it. I can't remember what floor we were on, I think it was 10 or higher, and we really didn't hear much if any noise from below.

It's a very convenient resort. A nice little walk away from MK and two hops on the monorail from Epcot. Since those are the parks we spend most of our time at - we enjoyed the ease of transportation.

We stayed club level, MK view at CR for our first and (so far) only family trip to WDW and we loved it. My goal would be to stay at every resort at least once, but DH & DD loved CR so much, I don't know if I can talk them out of it. It was so convenient to get to MK & EPCOT by monorail. The bus service was good while we were there too. We never waited more than 3-4 minutes for a bus.

I love the CR. I've stayed there a few times, once in the tower. The Tower is the way to go, for sure! We were on the MK side, 10th floor, dead center, and we never heard any noise from the concourse at all. We could hear the MK, though. (Train whistle, ferry boats, afternoon castle show, etc.)

I actually think the CR has the most "comfortable" rooms in all the Disney resorts I've stayed in so far. They are nice and large, with a good layout. Only problem is, there is an utter lack of storage space for clothes. Would be hard for a family of 4 to find places to store stuff. There were three of us and we had to all partially live out of our suitcases.

I love the resort as a whole, though. Excellent dining options, great pool, nice beach, cool transportation choices. It has it all.

Put me in the category of being among those who think that the actual rooms themselves at the CR are among the best at Disney...yes, if you are on the Chef Mickey end of the building you might get a bit of noise from the patrons...but one way to lessen that possibility is by requesting a room on the other end of the building (a request that shouldn't be that hard to get).

We just stayed there in January, fulfilling Mom's dream since her first time on the monorail over 20 years ago! We were on the seventh floor I think with a MK view. We did not hear any noise from the concourse but requested, and received, a room on the end away from Chef Mickey's. This is the only deluxe we've stayed in so far but I loved it. It didn't remind me of a regular hotel at all, but how could it when I was using the castle for a nightlight? We loved the convenience of the refillable mug area and being able to walk out the door and look down on the monorail. The design of the room was different than any I've ever encountered and I loved it. One switch under the tv turned on a panel of lights that was almost like a fireplace. I have tons of pics so feel free to pm me if interested. Unfortunately we were there during the freezing weather and didn't get to use the balcony but it was wonderful to get a view of that huge wreath up close and look down on the gingerbread structure. It was like we never left the MK. One word of caution, you are on the monorail but it does get busy, especially at opening, closing, and in the evenings at meal times. So you may end up waiting a couple of monorails to get on. It is worth it but allow some extra time!

We stayed in the CR Tower with an MK view. It was amazing! We didn't hear any noise from the monorail. The view of teh fireworks was amazing! It felt like a private show just for us. My husband had wanted to stay there since he was a kid.

My family and I stayed in a tower room at the Contemporary a few years ago. We loved it! We were on the side farthest from the MK, but still had a great view of the lake and pool area. Noise wasn't an issue for us at all, never heard anything from the restaurants below. Great place to stay and I would definitely stay there again!

We actually stayed in the tower for the first time last year. We were on the floor directly above the Monorail. I was concerned about noise as well, but it just wasn't an issue. We didn't really even experience any noise issues with Chef Mickeys.

We had a Magic Kingdom view and its quite a view indeed! We actually loved it so much we are doing it again this year (only 4 days to go!).

We haven't had a chance yet to stay at any other Resort but we have checked out the Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian. I really don't feel that Contemporary has a normal hotel feel. It actually reminds me of the Old Disneyland Hotel more than anything and I have a lot of Fond Memories of staying there!

Annnyways, put me on the list of those who would definitely recommend a stay in the Contemporary Tower!

I am so happy to read all of these positive reviews of the Contemporay. We are staying in the tower with a Magic Kingdom view for the first time in December. We usually stay at the YC/BC so I've been concerned that I had made a mistake not staying at our other 'home'. I can't wait to be in Disney at Christmas time again - it's been 10 years!!

We stayed there in 2008. We were upgraded from a garden room to a tower room. Our room was directly above Chef Mickey's on the Bay Lake side. It was incredible!! I too had worried that it wouldn't feel magical. We stayed there because my DS had always wanted to and he will be graduating high school in a couple of years and we wanted to make sure he got to experience it. It was one of the most magical weeks we have ever had at WDW! We couldn't believe believe how much we loved it! The noise from Chef Mickey's disappeared as soon as we closed our door but it was really cool to walk out and see the characters interacting with the guests. We also had a great view of Bay Lake and electric water pageant. And, the water slide, though not too pretty, was the best we had been on so far! We have been on the ones at the Poly, WL, POR and POFQ.

Hope you have a blast! We sure did!!
