Question MAN v FOOD your thoughts

Over in the UK weve just got this programme
and its slowly becoming a bit of a cult show now .
I know were getting the 2009 episodes ,but i wondered if there have been anymore since and is Adam still alive ? And did this show take off in the USA ?

I know the food challenges arent at all healthy in any shape or form ( i would love it of they gave the calories before he started the challenge ) ,
but watching from across the pond its compulsive viewing .
I will never forget the burger the size of a car tyre !!

We watch Man v Food a lot. It's still on the air, although it seems they keep showing the same episodes over and over recently.

I think the ones that get me more are the spicy challenges. I can't imagine eating some of the things he does (but I'm a lightweight in that category).

Yep, it's still going strong here.

I have my DVR set up to record "new" episodes only. There was a new one just last week, as well as two weeks ago, so they are still actively filming this show.

I can't handle watching the spicy challenges either...or anything involving massive amounts of seafood.

There are food challenges like this all over the place so I'm sure it can go on for a long time! There are 3 seasons, the most recent one started airing here this past June. Enjoy our American indulgences!!!

I think I saw a new episode last night, I think it was in Kansas. I am in awe when he finishes the hot ones. I have been a bit worried about Adam at times, when his face turns bright red and he is sweating so bad from the heat of the food.
Hopefully he eats lots of salads and good foods when he's not filming. I noticed he has a put on a few pounds.
Your attention please, the Walt Disney World Railroad is now boarding for a trip around the Magic Kingdom

We can't believe being able to eat the amounts Adam does. The whole show sounded stupid unilt we saw an episode and found out you get to visit other eateries around the country and Adam has such a fun personality, we've become fans. And yes, we too have been noticing his growning waistline.

We are a fan of this show. So we are lucky that Adam is coming to our State Fair this year! Can't wait to see what he devours.

For a man of his size and for the frequency he takes on these challenges i cant believe hes not the size of a house .
At work we allways comment on the chilli /pepper ones where we see them handling the chillis with double surgical gloves as they burn through .
Then he takes on a challenge eating them ....
WINS the challenge and then gets a crummy teeshirt for his insides being burned !!!

All i can say ..this man earns his money

I saw a promo for a show the other day with Adam in the commercial. He looks soooo horrible. He has put on even more weight and he had a big fuzzy beard...trying to hide the chins? Did he wear the leather jacket all the time the first season? We love the show and we are fascinated by what he's capable of eating, but I hope he works closely with a doctor, because eating like this can't be good for him.

Yeah, he always wore the jacket. I thought that was his "trademark" or something.

He does look pretty awful. Dark circles under his eyes, etc.

However, I have read about people like him and the consensus seems to be that they eat healthy whenever they are NOT filming a show or doing an eating competition. I know that competitive eaters usually "practice" by eating stuff like brown rice and vegetables, which really fill you up with fiber and cause your stomach to stretch better for later challenges. Adam probably films about 12 shows a season, maybe twice a year. And, as mentioned, a LOT of the challenges are not necessarily a lot of food, but a small quantity of something extremely spicy, for example.

I'm sure he's not any less healthy than the average overweight person walking around out there...

Anyone know why he always wears the jacket? It bugs me when he's eating something spicy, sweating and he has a jacket on? I just don't get it, even if its his "trademark".

I would guess it's to hide his gut.

I really can't stand this show. I used to watch it. But I can't stand it anymore. I think it's a combination of his annoying voice, being repulsed by the garbage he eats and how quickly he is putting on weight, or just how bad he is at how he tries to describe the flavors and experience of tasting the dishes. Personally I prefer No Reservation with Anthony Bourdain.

A friend of ours and his wife love this show and got us watching it. I, like so many others, prefer the spicy challenges.

A few weeks ago we were in Minneaplois and while there the episode filmed there was on so we took the name of one of the places he ate at and tried it. The show featured a juicy lucy buger. My DW and I split one and it was the perfect amount of food.

I liked the episode with the 14 lb. pizza that took two people to carry. I sense a trip to Boulder, CO!
