Default Mad Tea Party closed Sept-Nov

It was announced today that the Mad Tea Party will be closing for a refurbishment from Sept 26 to Nov 10. No info on exactly what they'll be doing, but since it's a relatively short refurb it can't be too much beyond normal maintenance. I know they've spruced up the one in DLR, so maybe something similar is coming to WDW.

Hopefully some paint touch-ups on the teacups will be done!

I hear a new roof is being put on, one that will blend in nicely with the new Fantasyland area

You don't want them to do what they did in Disneyland...they made them extremely difficult to spin, and put a limit on how fast they can go (which is not very fast at all).

The WDW teacups definitely need a new paint job!

OHHHHH NOOOOO!! Well I guess that just made my mind up on which park we should go to on our first day since we arrive on the 25th. This is one of my DS12's favorite rides....he talks about it ALLLLLLLL the time. First IASW (another fave of his) and now "TeeTups".... please, no more closures during our week....

Never really noticed that until you said it, but yeah that would be a HUGE plus!

That screeching sound totally startled me! And am I going crazy or did the middle turntables used to actually turn? I know that you go around the teapot and then your teacup spins, but I noticed another set of turntables that looks as though the cups all spin in a circle as well. Do you think they will turn these on?

I feel for you. At least you know in advance that his favorite rides will be closed (and you get to sneak in a quick ride on the teacups). I can still remember the look on my son's face on a long ago trip when we overheard on the bus to the MK that his favorite ride...the ride he had been talking about for months...Thunder Mountain...was closed. The poor kid. He was crushed. After that trip, we learned the importance of checking the rehab schedule so that, even if we couldn't plan our trip around closings, we could prepare everyone beforehand.
    Nice work, pal.

Ugh! That's a favorite ride for us! Between that and IASW being closed we won't be spending much time in Fantasyland. Boo Hoo! At least I'm prepared now!

All rides need refurbishment from time to time, but they are apparently doing more than just routine maintenance on this one.

Permit been filed for roof work. I don't think a new roof is going to be installed. Probably just fixing the current roof, which really did need the work.
Let's stop defending mediocrity out of Disney and hold Disney to the higher standard they set up themselves.

They need to power wash the deck that the cups sit on. It's gross.
