Default ElecTRONica very fun time at CA

I experienced ElecTRONica on Saturday night and it was very cool. I didn't know about it till that morning, theres a stage set up were Candy Corn Acres used to be and CM's there to explain what ElecTRONica is. Basically they're promoting the new Tron movie and after 7pm, the Backlot area is transformed into a Tron extraveganza. Laser lights, loud (I mean LOUD!!!) techo music with a live dj, guy's and girls on platforms dancing, a large area for everyone to dance, a cocktail bar setup($8-$12 per drink) The part I liked best was the arcade. The building that is just past Monsters ride and next to the Disney Visa photo area has been transformed into Flynn's arcade like from the original Tron movie. And its filled with retro arcade games like Tron, Donkey kong, Centipede, Pac-man, air hockey table. You can buy token in Flynn's or you can get some free-bee coins from 2 sources. 1. chat with the CM's in front of the elecTRONica stage during the day and ask for some token tickets or 2. get some token tickets from the fast pass machines randomly with pastpasses.
Also in front of Flynn's there are Wii's set up with the new Tron game so you can play the game demo. They also are projecting Tron movie images over the walls of the entire Backlot area so it feels like your in the movie.
I won the "Name the crocodile" contest.

I saw it two weeks ago. I never saw the movie Tron, so I didn't really know what it was all about. I agree.... VERY loud. It all reminded me of this summer's glowfest, only with a different theme.

Electronica is amazing! Kudos to Disney on this one. It is an immersive environment in the evening.

    I LOVE Flynn's Arcade!!!

I am a big fan of the original movie. I'm hoping that the new movie is at least as good.

Again kudos to those involved for a job well done.

My kids adored this so much that they made me take them 3 nights in a row!!! Their favorite part was playing Frisbee with the "Tron guys" -- they taught my kids a ton of tricks (mostly because my kids refused to leave the area and spent 2 hours with them every night). The sneak peak was awesome, can't wait to see it and glad they are bringing back Bruce Boxlightner from the original cast.

(For anyone who has seen it -- how the heck did they make Jeff Bridges look so young in his avatar mode?????)

Digital Domain is the lead SFX group on TRON: Legacy and basically they used motion capture to get Jeff Bridges performance and modified the technique they first used with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button but instead of aging an actor they were trying to recreate a specific younger look (Jeff Bridges from around the time of when he appeared in Against All Odds).

Lots of cutting edge stuff especially around how they planned the shots in 3D.

Thanks for answering that question -- dang, it was super eerie seeing him so believeably young again.

I've heard it is good. I've only watched clips online. I have yet to make it to DCA in the evenings since it has been in the park.
