Open-o Campero

The new Pollo Campero location opened November 12th in the former Ronald’s Funhouse location in Downtown Disney. The renovated location houses a Pollo Campero quick service counter, a Fresh A-Peel quick service counter, and a bakery section by Babycakes NYC. All three counters have shared register, beverage, and seating areas. Pollo Campero offers quick Latin style chicken entrée’s and a variety of Latin side-dishes. Fresh A-Peel offers 8 varieties of salads and a variety of wraps. The bakery offers 100% vegan, kosher, and gluten free cookies, cupcakes and pastries. The location is open for breakfast service 8:00 am -11:00 am and is open for Lunch/Dinner service 11:00 am – 10:00 pm.

World of Accessories

The World of Disney store at the Downtown Disney Marketplace will officially launch a new line of Disney merchandise on November 20th. The new D-Tech line offers a variety of Disney-themed accessories for computers, electronics, and phones. The product line includes iPhone covers, mousepads, reversible laptop sleeves, and more. Some of the items have already been spotted at the World of Disney store, so it is not clear if additional items will be released as part of the “official” launch or if the launch is just a marketing event for the product line.

Epicurean Expansion

In anticipation of peak Thanksgiving crowds, Magic Kingdom has announced expanded dining options. From November 20th – 27th, El Pirata Y El Perico will serve a Quick Service Lunch 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. From November 21st through 27th, The Diamond Horseshoe Saloon will serve a Quick Service Lunch 11:00 am – 3:00 pm; and the Tommorowland Terrace will serve Quick Service meals from 11:00 am – 10:00 pm. From November 24th – 27th, The Diamond Horseshoe Saloon will serve a Table Service Dinner 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm; and a new “Main Street Sausage Cart “ will be operating near the Hub 11:00 am – 7:00 pm.

A Spicier Pantry

The Downtown Disney Marketplace has opened a new retail location. The new Spice & Tea Exchange retail location occupies 400 square feet inside Mickey’s Pantry. The store-inside-a-store opened November 9th and features a variety of teas, flavored sugars, salts, and signature spice blends & signature rubs.

The Name Game

Effective November 9th, 2010; The Regal Sun Resort in the Downtown Disney Resort Area changed names to the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. The hotel offerings and operation are unaffected by the name change, but Guests will want to look for the new name if considering a stay at this resort.

A Tastier Transit

Similar to the kiosk opened at the Ticket and Transportation Center in July 2008, the Epcot Monorail station has recently opened a “Coffee . Espresso . Pastries” kiosk. The new Kiosk is located adjacent to the entry ramp .

7/13/08 A new snack kiosk named “Coffee . Espresso . Pastries” has opened at the Ticket and Transportation Center. The location currently offers Coffee, Iced Coffee, Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Flavored Latte, Iced Flavored Latte, Tea, Iced Tea, Hot chocolate, Frozen Mocha, smoothie, Bottled Water, Bottled soft Drink, Juice and Milk beverages priced $2.50 - $6.00; and Assorted pastries priced at $3.00 each.

Innovenchange

The Velcro Exhibit at Innoventions in Epcot has been announced to close in Early 2011. The “What’s Your Problem?” improvisational show and Slap Stick Studios will close February 5, 2011 when the Velcro Company’s contract for the exhibit expires.

A Treat By Any Other Name …

In preparation of the Fantasyland expansion, a popular treat spot has changed names. Mrs. Pott’s Cupboard has been re-named “Storybook Treats”. The name change has already occurred on Magic Kingdom Park guide maps, but signage at the location has yet to have been reportedly changed.

Merchanversary

Guests wanting to grab garb to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 40th Anniversary won’t have to wait till next year. 40th Anniversary clothing has already been spotted on racks around the Walt Disney World resort. A number of collectible items, including pins and Vinylmations, have been announced to have special 40th Anniversary editions released next year.
