I was in line at the grocery store and saw a headline on US Weekly that James held a knife to a kid's throat?! I don't believe the tabloid, but I wonder if it had something to do with people not voting for him. That would be a shame.

I read that James's ex-stepdad sold Star Magazine a story saying that James had episodes of uncontrollabe rage as a kid. He used to threaten suicide and hold a knife to his own throat and his 8 year old stepbrother. If that did affect a portion of his voting block, that is a shame. Given that he's struggled his whole life with tourrettes and asperger's, it's amazing to see how far he's come.

    Haha true!!

As for James, I also saw the story but I think it came out after the votes so it shouldn't have hurt his chances. I do not believe or even read most tabloids out there, but I will say that I have purchased Star many times in the past. 9 times out 10, they are very correct. I wouldn't call any tabloid a "reliable" magazine, but they are the closest thing. I could believe the knife thing as a child, but definitely not with his own son.

I'm headed over the the show in a little while. I'm going to go on the record and say despite the judges praise for Lauren. I believe Scotty will win tonight.

Have fun! Awesome. I think you might be right. I'm happy with either of them, wish they could both win because they are so cute when they sing together. I think they will both end up doing well in the business, so it doesn't matter really.

I love how the judges, in particular Randy, somehow how believe that their "grading of the performances" somehow has any relevance or impact on the final results. I saw about a 1/2 hour of the show last night as my wife was watching and was so annoyed (as usual) by Randy.

The overall talent this season has been pretty good, but AI is, and most likely, always will be, a popularity contest. The judges are essentially meaningless (except for the judges save now) once live voting starts.

Knowing they will endlessly drag out the finale, and I'll be the mortgage, will still find someway to run over, I only hope Steven Tyler and James Durbin do a duet, even though he didn't make the final 2 (Steven promised he'd sing with him if he did).

I didn't like Lauren or Scotty at all, but now I'm SO happy that they are the final two. Really, really happy. I don't even care who wins, but I would like for it to be Lauren.

I didn't even watch the performance show last night because I really have zero interest in country. I can take it in small doses but not a whole night. I'm sure some of you probably feel that way about some of the music I prefer. Looks like I wasn't the only one though, because it was the lowest rated finale ever.

I think, though, that Scotty sounded the BEST he's ever sounded tonight doing Live Like You Were Dying with Tim McGraw. Good stuff there.

It really irked me that Lady Gaga didn't give any sort of intro to Clarence Clemons. She just kept writhing around with her dancer during his sax solo. Man is a legend and deserved his due!

I hope so too! Actually, I secretly hope that they get married and make lots of albums together. HA!

I think this was the worst Idol finale in history. I wish I had recorded last years finale because that was my favorite one ever!

Great show. I liked the variety of musical guest they had on the show. I really had no doubt Scotty would win once he was in the final 3.

I pretty much love all music, but I know I hated country when I was younger. I didn't really start liking it until I got to my 30s. Now I would put it in my top 3, behind Classical, and Pop music.

So how did Steven Tyler sound live on Dream On? Goodness my ears were bleeding after that one. I turned over to Idol during the intermission of the hockey game, just to hear him mutilate my favorite Aerosmith song. Part of the reason I was turned off of this season to begin with during the audition shows - his now aged, screeching voice. Stop Steven...stop!

That was hard to listen to for sure, but at least their were other performances to make up for it.

I liked how they both gave their moms a key to a car, then were allowed to pick any Ford car they wanted for themselves. I thought that was a nice touch over the normal way of just presenting each finalist with a car.

The 2 ladies that got the cars were their favorite teachers not their moms.
