Default Family of 6...best place to stay?

What do you think would be the best place to stay for a family of 6? The kids will be ages 2, 4, 7 and 13 at the time of vacation. I was thinking about the family suites at the value resorts, but have never actually seen them. Any other suggestions?? This is for my brother-in-law's family...who have never visited WDW before and are looking to me for guidance. I have been there too many times to count, but we just have 2 girls so it was always easy to figure out accomodations! I am also wondering if the QS Dining Plan would be a good option for them. I appreciate any suggestions and tips!!

Obviously some of it depends on their finances. A suite at the All-stars would be a great choice. They could also consider getting two rooms there or two rooms at a moderate resort, especially with the discounts going on right now. They can look at a house from "All star vacation rental homes", but if they're looking at staying on property-- which I really recommend-- I would go the suite route.

Renting DVC points for a two bedroom suite at a DVC (Home-away-from-home) resort is a nice idea. Depends on the budget but with a bit of research and work with a DVC owner, they might find this to be competitively priced and provide some savings with the kitchen (Breakfast!), laundry and space to enjoy.

    Default 6 is hard

All Star Suites go fast and do not get much discounting.
Mini-kitchen, beds or fold outs for 6, 2 baths
    ALTERNATE:
Value : 2 connecting rooms cost a little less and may have a sale price. 4 double beds, 2 baths, but no mini kitchen.

They will have to balance price, amenities and availability. Maybe let MJ run the numbers.

For us the QS dining plan was pricey with our eating habits. That is always a struggle to judge.

The Fort Wilderness Cabins are also an option with a living room with a murphy bed, a full kitchen and a bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunk beds.

I agree the Fort Wilderness Cabins would be a fun option for a family of this size.
