Default Arriving Day Before Free Dining...

I am arriving in WDW August 27th and the free dining starts the 28th. I was just wondering if I can begin the dining plan the next day or if we have to arrive the day it starts? I know if you are there when it is ending they will extend it, but I don't know how it works if you are arriving before. Thanks for any help!!!

You would need to have one reservation for one night (the day before it starts) and then another reservation for the period during the dining plan "freebie".

If you already have a reservation, you're probably going to have to cancel it and rebook with the "free" dining offer. Two reservations will probably require you to check-out/check-in on that day as well. You probably won't have to move rooms though.

They just don't give you "free" dining if you're there during the period it's offered. I don't know if they extend it if you are staying longer. Those types of loopholes were "fixed" with fairly recent system upgrades. It may still be done, but I'm just not sure. Ask that as well when you call about modifying your existing reservation.

we have this exact situation. we were told by 3 different CM's that we would have to have 2 seperate reservations in order to do this. kind of annoying since that kinda messes with park tickets, etc and since they extend it if you stay longer than the promo (we usually check in the last night of the deal to avoid adr situations) then they should add it early if need be.

I have the same problem I had to book 2 different reservations. I did the same last summer and they actually made us change rooms after the 2 days and spend the other 12 in another room
