    Default Best Counter service.

Our next trip is in October (feels like forever), and I am planning as best I can.

We always eat at the same counter places every time we go....Casey's, Flame tree BBQ, Mexican Pavilion, Etc.

Tell me your favorite Counter Service "joint". And your favorite item there, so I can expand my dining options with confidence. Thanks.

Sunshine Seasons at the Land Pavillion in EPCOT, too!

Great, fresh ingredients with a more sophisticated menu than traditional counter service: Turkey and Monterey Jack Cheese on Foccacia, Roasted Beets and Goat Cheese Salad, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Ginger Mongolian Beef, Rotisserie Chicken, Roasted Pork Chops, Grilled Veggie Flatbread, Stir-fry, and a FANTASTIC BAKERY (tons of desserts and pastries)!

And for kids they have the regular kids menu items plus mac and cheese !

I've been tempted to stray from Flame Tree to try Yak & Yeti CS (sit down was good) but I can't live without my BBQ, and I love the view. Cosmic Rays is always a must for DD and I also.

When at MK we always eat at Peco Bill's at least once each trip. Columbia Harbour House is good too.

Tried Yak and Yeti CS at AK last trip and it was great, best CS I have had I think.

    Cool

    At Magic Kingdom we like:
Pecos Bill's- burgers and fixins bar
Columbia Harbour house- Shrimp basket is always good.
DHS: Back Lot Express- I like the grilled turkey sandwich, something different than burgers etc
Epcot: Sommerfest for me, a Brat and a beer somehow tastes better at the Germany Pavillion.
AK: I like Flame Tree, pretty good pulled pork sandwich. Have never been to Yak & Yeti but it does look interesting.

    Cool Counter Service Anyone

    • MK - Cosmic Rays for the selection and entertainment, we'll still do Casey's one day!
    • EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons in THE LAND - so many different choice for family.
    • DS - Going to try Starring Rolls this trip. DW likes the outside CS right in front of TOT. Pizza and Salad combo.Name slips me for now.
    • AK - We ate TS at Yak and Yati last time - TWICE. This time it will be CS at Yak and Yati. Get the MANGO PIE!
    • Downtown Disney - Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Pucks Express.

I've only eaten at the TS Yak and Yeti, but I heartily second this. Get the mango pie! Even if you only stop by the CS to get desert. It's well worth it.

    Counter Service
    - Magic Kingdom -
Columbia Harbor House. Love their fried shrimp and clam chowder.
Cosmic Ray's. Usually get a burger and take advantage of their awesome fixins bar.

    - Epcot -
Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. I really like Moroccan flavors and have loved everything I've tried here.
Yakitori House in Japan. I love their teriyaki.

    - DHS -
Honestly, I am not in love with any of the counter services options in the studios. I did enjoy the sandwich I had the last time I was at the Studio Catering Company.

    - AK -
The last time I had counter service in AK, Tusker House was still a CS, so I can't really offer recommendations on this one. I can say that everything I've had at Yak and Yeti TS has been good, so I would give the CS version a try.

    NEXT TRIP -

Cosmic Rays: Lots to choose from, and good entertainment.

    EC: Sunshine Seasons. Nice selection.

DS: Backlot Express. The Grilled Turkey & Cheese is good.

Pecos Bill's @ MK - Love the fixins bar and sitting outside if a nice day!

Columbia Harbor House @ MK - Good change of pace and sitting on the second floor over the bridge is a great view.

Yakitori House @ EPCOT in Japan - GREAT outdoor dining. Very peaceful.

Sunshine Seasons @ EPCOT - great selection great deserts!

Wolfgang Pucks Express @ DTD - best value for a CS restaurant.

Earl of Sandwich @ DTD - Great sandwiches (love the Cannonballs!) but can be crowded and noisey.

Flame Tree @ AK - Never eaten anywhere else in AK bacause this is so good. Very nice shaded outdoor seating.

MK - Cosmic Rays for a less expensive dinner with real food....and Columbia Harbor House (we too enjoy upstairs dining at a window table)

AK - flametree and yak/yeti (counter service) if you can get a table with some shade.

    Epcot - sunshine seasons

studios - nothing in CS stands out to us there

MK - Cosmic Ray's - lot's of choices - love the wraps! Also Pinocchio Village Haus - nothing in particular - but we like to get there early, right opening at 11, you can easily score a table by the window & watch the launching of IASW & wave to the guests! New for us this year was Tortuga Tavern (formerly El Pirata Y Perico) was great! We had the taco salads - some had beef & some chicken - you get to go to the fixins bar & fill the shell! YUMMY!

Epcot - Electric Umbrella - decent & La Cantina de San Angel - love the nacho's!

    DHS - Backlot Express

AK - Flametree BBQ - Just can't be beat! The ribs are fantastic as is the pork bbg sandwhich!

DTD - Earl of Sandwhich - Can I say YUMMY again? I had the Caribbean jerk chicken sandwhich which was awesome & the parfaits were such a great treat!

yak and yeti!!!! we dared to skip flame tree BBQ on our last trip in favor of trying something new, and I dont know if we'll ever go back to flame tree. We LOVED yak and yeti! I had the sweet and sour chicken and DW had the ginger beef, and both were awesome. great food, large portions (we could almost have shared one meal, and we were hungry), enjoyed sitting outside in the shade, wasnt crowded. In fact it was so good that we feel no need to try the TS option!
