I really love Wolfgang Puck Express. their pizza's are to die for. really, really great food there. I had a 4 cheeze pizza and my mom had a meatball one. both was very good. i would strongly recommend going there.

Another quick service that i love is pizzafari. we usually go there right before closing. i am a pizza fan so, i always get the pepperoni pizza. And for dessert i would get the choclate mouse. Yum!

My favorites are Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square for the Anchors A'weigh sandwich yummm!! Sunshine Seasons is a GREAT one in The Land Pavilion.. so many good choices and the desserts are just YUM!!!

We used to love Cosmic Ray's but we just don't feel its the same at all anymore.. everything costs more and you get so much less. The Chicken ceasar salad used to be awesome there, mixed up and served in a bowl w/ awesome ceasar dressing, just so good and we'd order fries on the side.. a perfect meal, not too filling! last time we went we were shocked that it was a few pieces of dry lettuce and a piece of chicken on a small plate.. redic!!

Pecos Bills Cafe is another one of our favorites, Electric Umbrella at Epcot, Flame Tree BBQ at AK is very good!
Been there, Haven't done it all...GOING BACK!!!

Next trip "Home" - September 3-10th 2016 at the Beach Club Resort! Giannas 1st trip to WDW!!!

I've seen a lot of endorsements for the ones I'm about to suggest, but nevertheless I wanted to endorse them:

Ray's Starlight Cafe (MK) and Sunshine Seasons (Ep) for the variety and abundant seating. It's hard to go wrong with Casey's though, so I wouldn't abandon that tradition if I were you.

I'm posting without reading the other comments so I won't be swayed.

MK- Columbia Harbor House- tuna sandwich or fish and chips.

AK- Flametree is my favorite, but since you are looking to branch out I'll recommend something else. I've heard great things about the picnic in the park. We are looking forward to trying that one next trip.

EPCOT- Pastry shop in France, Boulangerie Patisserie?
We love the ham and cheese croissant sandwiches. You can have it cold, but we like it warm. Plus, you then have a plethora of dessert choices and all of them are fantastic. This is my favorite meal at Disney. We never miss this one!

I just noticed you are going in October. You can easily make a meal of snacking around the food and wine festival in EPCOT. We prefer to hit that at lunch when it's less crowded.

Ours too! They also added a shrimp basket when we were there. We love sitting upstairs watching guests walk between Frontierland and Fantasyland.

Most of my favorite CS places are at the resorts. They seem to offer a wider variety than the standard burgers, chicken nuggets and fries! They are:

*Contempo Cafe at CR (try the Black Forest Cupcake for dessert - YUM!)
*Artist Palette at SSR (They have a fantastic salad on their menu!)
*Captain Cooks at the Poly (Self-serve Dole Whip machine!!)
*Everything POP at POP (Great variety)

My other favorites at the parks and in DTD are:
    *Flame Tree BBQ at AK
    *Columbia Harbour House at MK
    *Tangierine Cafe at EP
    *Yakitori House at EP
    *Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD

OK, I'm ready to add my 2 cents.

    We like:

    MK -
Columbia Harbor House - Shrimp, or chicken, or fish - and chips - and sitting upstairs by a window people-watching.
Casey's - After dark - eating a hot dog at a table with a view of the Castle.
Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's - I agree with everything that's already been written.
    Bakery - For obvious reasons.

    EPCOT -
    Sunshine Seasons - Great choices.
Electric Umbrella - A tradition from the days when it was known as Stargate - any time of day at an outside table watching the fountain show.
France - Bakery treats, hoping there's a place to sit.
Liberty Inn - The big draw here is sitting outside, especially if there's a show going on at the Theater or nearby. Back in the days of the Tapestry parades, we always planned a meal during parade time.
Norway - Almond pretzels (yum!), and open faced sandwiches.

    DHS -
Backlot Express - Grilled turkey sandwich - try it with some honey mustard sauce. Delicious!!
Commissary - No particular reason, other than tradition.

    AK -
Yak & Yeti - I tried this several trips ago, and keep going back.
    Restaurantosaurus -
    Pizzafari - Pizza and breadsticks
Flame Tree - I tried the pork sandwich last trip for the first time. I can't wait to go back for another one next month.

    DTD -
Earl of Sandwich - Biggest problem here is deciding which sandwich you want. There are many choices.

    ASMusic Food Court -
    Parmesan-crusted chicken.

    POP Century Food Court -
    Tie-dyed Cheese Cake

    Everywhere in the World -
Mickey Bars - Vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate always seems so much better when it's in the shape of our favorite corporate icon.

    Thumbs up

So, im totally hungry now! I agree with all the above counter service, especially Casey's @ MK as tradition more than anything else. Its been a family tradition since I was a kid.

We ate at Yakatori House in Japan on our last trip and it was delicious (if you like that sort of thing-our 14 year old tried sushi for the first time!I still wont eat it, but i had a good salmon and rice dish).

MK - nothing special about Cosmic Ray's but I believe it gives you the best options and value.

Epcot - Lots of decent choices here. I think Tangerine Cafe is one of the better choices if you dig Mediterranean-style food. Also a good value.

AK - We always went to Flame Tree, but we get better BBQ down the road here in Texas. Never been to Yak and Yeti, but heard it is good.

    DHS - No.

In 2009 I took my nephew to WDW. He was just shy of his 5th birthday. At Pinocchio Village Haus they have PB&J on the kids menu. It's been years since I had one and since he doesn't like jelly, I ordered him the chicken strips adult entree and I had the best uncrustable PB&J ever.
