    Default Looking good for photos

I am so glad you posted this! I know exactly how you feel, I look at our precious vacation photos and I want to edit myself out of them desperately before my daughter puts them on facebook. I don't have miraculous solutions or special products to offer you, only my support and understanding. I think a lot more of us feel this way than you think. I do put my hair in a pony tail and try to smooth down the frizzies with hair spray before leaving the room.

    Default Omg!

    LOVE this thread.

I grew up in FL but gave up my sun habit 20 yrs ago... however, I still thnk that a nice tan (NOT overdone pa-leese!) is the best makeup.

Real or spray - tan skin means almost no makup for me. Mascara, shiny lip balm and a swoosh of blush on my cheeks. done.

And.. big fan of the HAT and the SUNGLASSES.

yes, yes..tht is my recipe. I am not a glamoour gal at all so...

TAN - waterproof mascara, blush, lipbalm

HAT - simple (you can wet your head to cool off and put the hat back on!)

    SUNglasses

I have curly hair and combination skin and the summers are challenging for me. I once received a comment from a friend during a hot Ohio summer's day (on a trip) on how good I looked. I told her my secret - I was wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and glasses - basically camouflage.

My suggestions for looking fresh are:

1 - HAT!!! Just give up and wear a hat. I like LLBean's straw hats (I favor the beige ones, not the pastels, as the beige ones go with everything). It hides your hair and shades your eyes so you don't look squinty in pictures. You also don't get the raccoon look from getting your face sunburned while wearing sunglasses. I also wear baseball caps too (normally when I run), but it doesn't cover your face as well or look as nice as a wide-brimmed hat. I usually don't look good in hats, except baseball caps (with or w/o an ponytail, depending on hair length) and wide-brimmed straw hats. The straw hats aren't as casual as baseball caps.

2 - Well-groomed, well-defined eyebrows. I have dark hair and eyebrows and I still put on eyebrow powder every day to define them better.

3 - Mascara - One that doesn't run. I use Trish McEvoy's Lash Curling Mascara. It realy doesn't run or flake. It comes off with warm water either in the shower or when washing your face. I've never had it run or flake.

4 -Blot & powder whenever you visit the ladies' room.

5 - If you don't want to deal with eye makeup, then wear glasses. Sunglasses are OK, but you normally don't wear them inside. If you don't have a prescription, you don't necessarily need one as TV telecasters frequently wear them to look more intelligent. So just buy flattering (inexpensive) frames. It can hide dark circles or under-eye bags from lack of sleep.

6 - Coordinate your outfits. Do it while packing before you even leave for your trip, so you don't have to think about it once you ate there. A lightweight cardigan that goes with everything looks good when you put it on your shoulders when in the A/C.

    Hope this helps.

BTW - Thanks to the guys out there who said we look fine. Women generally think that they look worse than they actually do and men think that they look better.
