    Unhappy Online check-in not work :(

    I realize this is no biggie, and it won't ruin the magic of my upcoming trip; but I was disappointed that online check-in will not work for me. I am arriving for the W&D Half Marathon and booked my resort, POFQ, through runDisney. While my WDW account retreives my reservation and prompts me to do the online check-in it won't work. I look at online check-in as another great step in preparing for my pending trip and it means I am almost there, so I was disappointed that when I called WDW they told me my reservation is fine but apparently my confirmation number will not allow online check-in. While I hope it will not be crowded the night I arrive, at 8PM, I also have to wait through the normal check-in line

    Just complaining that I wish it would not prompt me and offer it, if it is not available. Yet I honestly don't understand why I can't use the service since I booked through runDisney.

    Oh well, I arrive in 6 days. Very much looking forward to my trip!

    I'm sorry that you're not going to be able to use the online check in... and I see why you're disappointed that you got a screen for something that you couldn't use!

    I did want to reassure you that even if you don't have the online check in that things can still go smoothly. We couldn't use it on our last trip but when we got to the resort, there were only 2 families in front of us for check in so we were processed in less than 20 minutes. (And part of that was because they took a picture of my DS for their scrapbook and got him some balloons for his birthday- can't complain about that )

    Unfortunately, RunDisney is yet another little division under the Disney Corporate Umbrella. It is not the same as DRC (room only reservations) or WDW Travel Co (package reservations).

    RunDisney is group space allocated to that division of the Disney/ESPN company. It comes with its own set of rules and regulations. Evidently, online check-in is not one of its perks.

    Thanks for the info, I guess that semi explains it. I know I will have a worry free weekend, as I am going to the Happiest Place on Earth! Like we said, it is just frustrating they prompt me to do online check-in but it is not available. Also, the number they gave me to call on the error message is not correct. When I phoned, they transferred me to tech support. The guy really tried to help me, walking me through then even trying to do it himself. At this point he tried to convince me I was with a conference thus why it was not open to me. He really did try hard to help me, but again, just frustrating.

    So sweet you got balloons, I bet it was a great picture. Those delays while waiting in line don't bother me, it is fun to watch

    Yet, it is only 5 days and I will be happily buckling myself into my airplane seat to begin my journey.

    W&D here we come!!!!!

    My one and only experience with online check-in was terrible. I waited 25 minutes to speak with someone, as the people in front of me (2 separate groups) were busy arguing their charges and accomodations. Not sure I'll ever use online check-in again.

    I guess it can go either way, I have used it twice before and loved it.

    I am hoping for a 8PM check-in on a Thursday night, using ME. Fingers crossed it is not a busy time. I think the W&D Half will ramp up this time, but still we are at WDW

    The important thing to remember about online check-in is there is NO reason, once you get to the front desk, that you don't just get in the shortest/fastest line. Any CM there can give you your packet and you will be on your way. As a a matter of fact, for all three of my online check-in experiences I was given my packet by a CM from the regular line (twice they waived me over, once I intentionally got in their line).

    The online check in did not work for me this week- it was a pain to get checked in once I got to the resort. I wouldn't do it again- next time I will just wait until we arrive.
