Okay, so next trip, I will try Artist Point, and on your next trip, try something at the GF.
Not sure why I never think of it. In 4 trips to WDW totaling 35 days (it will be 5 and 49 after our planned 2012 trip), I've never once stepped foot in the Grand Floridian, or even considered eating there. We've visited the Poly for breakfast and the luau, the Contemporary for Chef's twice, and we visit WL on every trip, but never the Floridian. I think it's because I'm a real blue collar kind of guy, and the GF seems a little stuffy to me. Very stuffy actually. In any case, I plan on treating my girls to a tea on some future visit, and now I'm thinking of trying that character breakfast. 2014 sounds about right.

Its so stunningly beautiful and the decorations at Christmas are gorgeous. We are jeans and t-shirts kind of people but I still love visiting the resort. Can't wait to try the other restaurants either.

Did you have any trouble with crowds when dining at the quick service locations? Were the lines too long, or did you have trouble finding seating?

We are going this coming December and I am trying to get a feel for what to expect as this will be our first trip during the holidays. We will be a large group of 11 adults and 4 kiddos.

We always eat lunch early to avoid this...if you eat at 1100-1130 you always seem able to find a table and lines aren't long yet.

With a group that large you would probably do better at a CS location with a lot of seating. Columbia Harbor House has seating upstairs and downstairs and Cosmic Rays seems to have plenty of seating at MK, Flame tree has plenty of outdoor seating at AK, Sunshine Seasons also seems to have plenty of seating at Epcot as does the Mexican pavilion. You might have trouble with Starring Rolls at DHS if you don't get there at 1130

Thank you for the tips! Columbia Harbour House is a must for us so we will end up there for sure. But I can't remember ever going to Cosmic Ray's. We will have to check that out. Thanks again!
