Default Are mosquitos bad in Orlando right now?

Just finishing my final packing for our trip to Disney World this Wednesday. Are mosquito bad there right now? Do I need to pack mosquito repellant?

I don't know that I've ever been bitten by a mosquito at WDW (though my DS did get a tick on him at AK a couple of years ago that we had to have removed at the first aid station). I don't think you need to worry about it.

I agree! Even though I always pack bug spray, I've never actually used it and I've only had one issue with mosquitos at Disney.

We did get "eaten alive" one evening, both at the POFQ bus stop, and at DTD. Otherwise, we've never had an issue.

The only spots I have ever gotten mosquito bites in the parks are:

The Indy Raceway cars in MK Futureworld
    Jungle trek in AK

Other than that, it was only an issue at the resorts.

DIsney must use some "Magic" repellant to keep them out of the parks. . .

Mosquitos are not allowed at WDW. I have never encountered them there.

Wow! This thought has never crossed my mind when going to Disney. I don't ever remember it being an issue. Interesting!? I did howver get to experience Love Bug season once. That was definately memorable.

They are an experience, aren't they? I didn't believe people when they told me that they didn't bit. Now, I'll take them over mosquitos any trip.

When we were in the MK the end of April I got a bunch of bites riding the WDW railroad from Main Street station to Adventureland.

I have been here since yesterday and no bug issues at all. We are getting blow off rains from the tropical storm but they are short lived.

I've gotten the occasional bite at Disney World but it really has been occasional. I'm a mosquito magnet so it's nice to know there is a place in the world where I can be out at dusk and after dark without waking up covered with swollen, itchy welts!

We like to stay at FW and during the evenings at the campfire, sing along, and movie they can be very bad. If that is in your plans you will want the best bug repellant possible.

Probably the insecticide Malathion. That's what almost every locality that has a mosquito spraying program uses. Except that rather than yearly or monthly spraying programs, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney sprays every night.

Actually I had never had many problems....until our last visit in october. The mosquitos were so bad at POR we couldn't even swim! They were covering us. I had never seen anything like it, and we live in tn.

I've added bug spray to the packing list. I'm a bug magnet as well!

I'm the person that always gets bit, but I've never had a problem at Disney. We were there a couple of weeks ago and no mosquitos.

I have, on several occasions, seen CM's in a boat in areas where tall grass meets water scooping up what I assume to be larea witht a net.

Just got back from a trip to WDW (stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort) and had no problems with mosquitos at the resort or the parks.
