    Default Dining plan at Disneyland?

I am considering planning a trip to Disneyland, and I can't find much info about the dining plan on the Disneyland website. I have only been to Disney World- is the DL plan similar to WDW? How many meals/day is included in the dining plan, and at what sort of places? (Such as quick service, table service, etc?) Is it something you generally get or would probably do without? Thanks for any help!

DON'T get the dining plan at Disneyland. It is not the same as the one at WDW. DL uses vouchers. If you meal is under the dollar amount of the voucher, you don't get change back, If you meal goes over the amount of the voucher, you have to pay OOP for the overage.

It is NOT a good deal at Disneyland, and you can do much better paying OOP. If you like having it paid for in advance, I would put money on a gift card. They can be used everywhere at Disneyland. I plan on doing that for our staycation in October.

Awesome thanks Marci!! It definitely sounds like a gift card would be the way for me to go- I like having the money set aside (as there are always sooo many appealing things to buy!!) but the vouchers don't sound so fantastic lol!

    Second the motion.
Do not, I repeat, do not bother with the dining vouchers.

Think of Disneyland's Dining plan as something you'd use with a big group of, perhaps, foreign visitiors or children. People who don't want to (or can't) carry cash/credit cards, and who need to have meals paid for in advance to make things easier. I imagine lots of tour groups and the like use this "plan".

It is NOT designed in favor of the average visitor.

Use a giftcard or just set aside the money in your checking account and use a credit card that you can pay off immediately, if you want to feel like the money is "already there."
