Default You know you're on your way when....

So you have made the decision to head back to 'The World'....at what point in the process do you get that feeling you are really, TRULY on your way!

If we are driving, it is either when I see the first of the South of the Border billboards or the first palm tree along I95. If flying, that first sight of the Magical Express bus means we have arrived!!

For me it's always on the drive there. We travel the same road several times a year to go to New Orelans or Baton Rouge. There is a split in the road where if we stay on I10 we go to one of those places, but to go to WDW we take I12. The road kind of does this big upwards curve. When my boys were younger they loved Peter Pan so when we'd take that curve we'd all shout "Here we gooooo". Even though they are getting older and never watch Peter Pan anymore, we still say that every time. That's when I feel like we are really on our way.

When I leave the airport, either by DME or rental car. Until then, I'm just "traveling". But at home beforehand, it's real when I check the expiration date on the milk I buy and I'll be back before it expires.

Landing at MCO and seeing my first palm tree. That's when I'm really on vacation.

When I get on the "monorail" at MCO. first car in front with bench seat. That was where the girls would go when little and start getting excited!

Although there are many "Wee it's vacation time!" moments, it really hits me when the video on the Magical Express bus fires up.

Not sure why, because it's not like I really like the video or anything. I guess it's the first moment of "You're in our world now" or something.

It hits me the night before when I can't fall asleep, waking up at 3 to gt on the plane at 6, and when we ride the "monerail" at MCO. It really hits me though when I put on my pin trading lanyard once we touch down at MCO though.

When driving it hits me when I get my first cup of freshly squeezed orange juice from the Florida line welcome area.

    Cool

For me it's a bit different, it's when we start our drive to Pgh International airport. Why is that different? I work at that airport, but there is something special to head to "work" knowing that I'm actually going to be flying to Orlando! 10 more days......

Seeing our whole vacation including airfare is PAID IN FULL. We get unrefundable airfare, so once thats paid for 10 people, I know there's no turning back
