New Water Show at Animal Kingdom?

Anyone hear any rumblings about a new water show at AK?

I have seen pictures on several sites of pinkish floating devices in the water. Rumor has it that they're testing out the possibility of doing a water show in the vein of World of Color in Disneyland.

This makes sense because it could provide park closing entertainment without disrupting the animals. However, I am not sure how much there will be for guests to do in the dark otherwise - that is, until Avatar opens up.

My guess is that they would like to extend the park hours (more time you're in the park, the more money you spend). They could probably operate with less cast members because the actual animal attractions (for the most part) would be closed. Avatar presents a lot of nighttime beauty when you consider all of the glowing/light up plants from the movie which I am sure will be part of the landscape.

Avatar + nighttime show + Bugs Life + Dinosaur + Everest may = some extended hours in years to come?

Ohh that's right I remember reading that...

I kind of assumed that it would be an Avatar themed show.

I'm now really hoping that this is a more "Animal Kingdom" sort of general show similar to World of Color instead of solely Avatar.

It would be nice if this work may indicate that the water show would be Phase 1 before Avatar opens in 2015 (or later).

I think several people made the same assumption because the show was being tied to the Avatar project, but in reality, Avatar and this show are just two pieces to the entire project to make DAK a full day park...

I've heard unconfirmed rumors of a night time boat/water show too. But it was along the lines of the projection technology (like Celebrate The Magic) where they would project images & effects onto the boat sails. No ties to Avatar either. Sounds like a great idea & makes much more sense than a World Of Color type of show since it will offer way more viewing possibilities.

How? I can't picture this.... In the water around the Tree Of Life? Everybody would be gathering on the bridges. I can't think of any areas to view the water besides the bridges. It would be cool to have a show as the sun is setting seeing DAK never stays open late after sun down.

I have no idea but I heard something to the extent of trimming back some plant life. Again, it's an unconfirmed rumor so take it as you may. Regardless, if they plan on making DAK an all day park, they will need some sort of night time parade/show to keep guests in the park. Especially since they're supposed to get rid of MJJP.

I thought Ak closed early for the safety of the Animals? I remember the safari guide saying all the animals go into climate controlled areas every night. Could they get all the animals to their night time areas and still keep the park open? What is an animal park with no animals?

Lot of water and viewing much like EPCOT over in the Asia Area circling the Lake in front of EE?
First I've seen this thread, but sounds like a Great Idea for extending the day in DAK.

Hahahahaa, totally agree! I forgot about Fern Gully until 1/2 way through Avatar when I realized why it all seemed so familiar

LOTR would be a lot more fun IMO, but oh well.
