Custom maps
I have seen customized maps advertised on the Disney website, but I haven't paid much attention to them. Are they worth creating?
I just read that it takes about 4 weeks to arrive by mail. I had no idea. I assumed it was something that could be printed at home.
We are about 4-5 weeks out. Should I bother with it?
I can't spell custom. Oops!

I think you should. The customize maps are pretty big and come on really nice parchment paper. I keep mine for a souvenier, I've never really used them in the parks.
I was just on the Disney website and after you are done customizing your maps at the bottom there is a section for to print them out at home.

Nice...
The person above is right on. I just wanted to add something about the time. I ordered them on September 1, 2013 and received them on September 14th. They are pretty cool! Nice and big with the included stickers my DD can mark what she wants to see. I would recommend them. We get them each time we go

As has been mentioned they are very nice maps and make an excellent keepsake. We got them several years ago. I believe they will have your name "XXXXXXX family" or something of that nature best I remember. It will be cool to pull them out in 15 or 20 years when the kids are all grown and look at them. There have already been so many attactions change and additions made that it would already be neat to look at them and reminisce.

These are nice especially since you can no longer purchase a souvenir quality map at the park any longer. My husband and I had a 1968 Disneyland map framed just recently.

I agree, they're worth getting! Unfortunately they're too big to fit in a scrapbook. I like to order them after a trip and mark all the things we did.

Our maps arrived yesterday! It only took 10 days. The paper quality is great and I love the envelope that it came in, too!
My kids had them spread out on the floor. I had to veto to use a pen to circle attractions. I saw gold dot stickers to use on the map, but I didn't take a close look. Have any of you used the stickers?
