Are we out of luck?

My family and I leave for Disney on Wednesday. We are Dvc members and our activating our Ap vouchers on this trip. We never received an invite to participate in the magic band test and I am starting to wonder if this will negatively affect our trip. I have read several places that a lot are using the new FP+ system, leaving those who aren't out of luck with regular fast passes and having to wait in stand by lines. Is this true? If so, I find this very frustrating given that I was never given the opportunity to participate. For anyone who has been lately without FP+ what has your experience been like??

I was at WDW from 9/19 to 9/22 and my resort had not yet gotten Magic Bands. (Everywhere I stay seems to be getting them the day after I leave!)

Now Sept does see lighter crowds than October but Fast Pass+ had no effect on us . We went to Ecpot on the 20th, got there at 12 and there were still plenty of FP for Test Track and Soarin.

We are going next weekend and are at Coronado Springs which does not have Magic Bands and I am not worried.

We are also owners and we were there in August - while testing was going on - and we, also, were not part of the testing.

While I think it had some impact, the impact was generally not significant. We pretty much rode everything we wanted to with the exception of Toy Story Mania. We could have gotten to the park earlier (it was an extra magic hour morning) but chose not to. We could have gotten regular fast passes but the return time was late enough into the afternoon that I knew we would not still be in that park so we just skipped it for this trip. We also did not ride Splash Mountain. Again, we could have have gotten regular fast passes for this ride but had something else going on for us so just skipped it. In some cases, we found the stand-by lines longer than expected. Typically, we used the regular fast pass system quite successfully. There were times when the regular fast pass line was redirected or held aside to allow earlier entry for those with the bands. In general, we found the last August crowds heavier than we expected and have experienced in the past and this, I think, probably impacted us more than the lack for fast pass +.
