Here is a Kong sized rumor about the giant gorilla...

Mentioned a few months back about Kong coming back... Look for Kong to get his own island in IOA rather than take over where Disaster is... Skull Island is rumored to be coming to the plot of land once believed to be the JP expansion plot...

The EMV is being described as similar to Indiana Jones, will have an underground temple queue, and interior caverns... The vehicles will be guided by a "tour guide" similar to Great Movie Ride... The attraction will have an outdoor portion complete with AA's and will then become and indoor dark ride, similar to River Adventure in Jurassic Park... new Kuka robot arm technology will be included (look for even more impressive Kuka robot arm technology in Gringott's that will blow you away!!!).. This is rumored to be a scene in the attraction where the rider is attacked... I have a feeling Kuka arms will be used as either Kong's arm or to actually help move a huge Kong AA... Finally, your tour guide will disappear during the course of the ride... The guide will be abducted somewhere in the attraction... Also seems as if we may wind up with huge show scenes and AA's mixed with screen technology and 3D...

IMO Kong was a great ride and I was so shocked when they got rid of it. Not only was it a great ride but it was so popular. Always crowded. I would love for it to come back, but can't understand why they would put in an attraction that they closed down years ago. It's not like King Kong is a popular character/movie now.

IMO Kong was a great ride and I was so shocked when they got rid of it. Not only was it a great ride but it was so popular. .

But at least they gave him one heck of a send off party!

Oh man, I miss that ride. That was Universal Studios to me. Although I do love revenge of the Mummy. It would be great to see Kong back in some capacity.

I'm wondering if they will run the Kong and JP projects together since they are basically on the same island. It would make sense from a manpower and equipment perspective since they could treat it as one site, like the London project.

In that case, you would disturb the area only one time instead of trying to work the JP project after Kong which I would picture to be like what is going on with MK where the 7DMR is smack in the middle of everything completed around it.

I hope this is what they do... Kong is off to the side and behind JP so I don't think much will be affected by that project... But starting them together would be ideal, like you said, especially for manpower...

This Kong ride sounds.... AWESOME!!!!

As long as they keep to the plans and don't start cutting (actually, budget has been taken from the JP expansion and added to Kong so I don't think that is much of a worry), new Kong will blow away the original Kongfrontation!!!

You asked, you shall receive... Remember, take this as rumor, and remember things can change (and often do) during budgeting and construction... I sure hope not though:

The vehicles will be two connected vehicles, similar to Great Movie ride... The driver or guide will be in the first vehicle, again, similar to Great Movie Ride... 4 to 6 people will sit per row, with 5-6 rows in the first vehicle, and 7 or 8 rows in the second...

Ok, as for the ride: You know where Thunder Falls Terrace current is? We will be entering the attraction from around that area... We will be walking through giant gates of old ruins... As we continue to queue, we enter the ruins of a temple (descending) which will be heavily themed... We then ascend through to the top of the temple, which will be outdoors, where load will be... The first three scenes of the attraction will be outdoors... We will then transition inside through a wall, and the next few scenes will take place indoors... As we come to the end of the ride, we will reach what is being described as something physical guests will be very happy with, but no idea as I couldn't figure that out lol.... We then reach unload, and before we exit the attraction after unload, we will encounter a very unique bonus scene after unload...

While inside, we will enter an insect chasm and come upon AAs and screen projections of scorpions, dragonflies and centipedes.. we'll exit the insect chasm into a bat cave, where we encounter the Terapusmordax (scary batlike creatures) from the movie...Terrifying is how this scene is described... The vehicle will lose control in the bat cave as well.. We'll also encounter Kong right before and after the transition back outside...

Safe for now... In fact, they are working on upgrading the vehicle (subway car) for Disaster...

Thanks for the good news. A visit to Universal wouldn't be the same without a visit to Disaster (you're welcome).
