    Default Food and wine

Just booked our next trip for the first week of October. I see that this coincides with the food and wine festival this year. I have a general idea of what this is but would love more info.

Any tips on special things to see/ do during this time. Things to avoid?

We are going with a three year old so will be spending most of our time at mk/ak but do want to hit up the festival a little bit. Will this make Epcot much more crowded, is there a better time of day to go?

    Thanks!

    Cool

You'll LOVE IT! Additional booths set up by various Countries from around the World. Each sell various snack size portions representing their Counties Food & Drink.
If your on the Dining Plan, you can use a Snack Credit for most, even up to around $7.00 or so. Best way to use Snack Credits.
I'm sure someone will come along and give you a better description and maybe even a Menu location.
There is also Eat To Beat Concert Series that is FREE and you can check the listing in the News Tab for dates in October and see who's playing while your there.
    Enjoy!

Since you're going with a 3 year old, I don't think you'll take advantage of the special food/wine tasting offering that usually occur along with this festival.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the festival. As noted, they set additional booths around World Showcase each of which features sample size portions of food from various countries. Along with this, you will also find wine and other drink offerings related to the countries as well. World Showcase can get pretty crowded during the festival - particularly on weekends. Additionally, there have been some reports that some folks tend to over-imbibe the alcoholic beverages during this time.

The concerts can be pretty cool - depending upon who is appearing.

This will be our 7th year in a row hitting the F&W and we love it. We are not big drinkers it is all about the food for us. We love to try new things and still visit some of our favorite oldies. Epcot is my favorite park and this just adds a nice festive touch. I can't agree more..avoid the weekends when the locals come in. It can get very crowded. We have attended during the week and the weekend and there is a difference. When the menu comes out with prices we go through it and designate the higher priced items for snack credit use and which ones we will pay oop for. With things like a lobster roll and wild mushroom filet costing 7+ it is a great use for a snack credit. I scrapbook and the passport that you can get stamped at all the countries makes a great item to do that with. Go and Enjoy!

For your first time, food and wine can be overwhelming. Lots to taste and sample and it can add up quickly. Try out Canada's cheddar cheese soup and their ice wine for a good introductory sample. It's good. And you'll get the idea of what it's about. Italy usually has a cheese ravioli. It's always a good "go to" and good introductory sample as well. The 3 year old will probably be less than thrilled. Take a small container full of cheerios or sorts to keep him entertained. They also have the Duffy mask thing that you color and get stamped at each country. That's not really a food and wine festival thing. It's always there as an activity for the little ones so they can be involved in something too. But the festival is a lot of fun. It's a favorite. I would avoid Friday evenings/nights. The locals like to bust out of work and spend the evening and night drinking and sampling around. Anything before 5 on the weekends should be ok. It's usually after 5 on the weekends where it can get crowed. And yeah, check out the featured band that plays at the American theater. Can't beat a free concert. It's fun!!! Enjoy!!!

Are Sunday afternoons as busy as the rest of the weekend? We arrive on a Saturday to POFQ and were planning on hitting MK Sunday morning, then swinging over to Epcot F&W festival around 2pm that afternoon. We had also planned on going Monday early in the day as well to try and go twice while we are there. Thoughts on Sunday afternoon? Thanks! We have an Adult Only 4 day trip at the end of September and want to spend more time in Epcot than we usually do when we go with our family!

Thanks for all the info. Being with a little one will probably not spend much time here but do maybe want to check out the concert (air supply) the first half of the week and sample a few things. Looking forward to it!
