Shrek on Verge of Replacement?

This would be the first Universal attraction that I wouldn't be excited about. I know Star Trek has a big following and this would be another great attraction for Universal but it does nothing for me.

I'm with you....and I love Shrek....I can't see this happening with Star Trek...didn't the last movie come out years ago....why would they want to put in a new attraction when a new movie isn't set to come out.

Perosnally, I don't think Shrek is the place to put Star Trek... Put it over by MIB, even replace MIB with Star Trek... Make a Sci-fi land... I don't think it belongs where Shrek is...

But, this is just rumor anyway... The project number isn't a rumor.. it is a legit project number... But Star Trek replacing Shrek is...

I don't know, but apparently they used to have a license a long time ago.

Universal used to have the Screen Test Home Video Adventure experience which opened in 1991. Guests were given the opportunity to star in one of two 10-minute films: Your Day at Universal Studios or The Star Trek Adventure. It was closed in 1996.

I also found this in an online article about the Star-Trek rumor of an attraction coming to USO:

"It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Universal to license the Star Trek brand from Paramount, as they’ve worked out similar deals for popular characters and properties from rival studios who don’t operate theme parks themselves. Some examples include Sony’s Columbia Pictures’ Ghostbusters and Men in Black and 20th Century Fox’s The Simpsons.".

Nothing officially announced, just strictly rumor... And that is all this is, rumor.. The project number, as I originally posted, is legit, but what the project is, is rumor...

In fact, this project number not be related to any Shrek replacement at all...

As with all rumors, we need to take them with a grain (or several teaspoons) of salt, and treat them as such, until official announcements are made...
