Default Dining with a 9 year old boy

Looking for some recommendations for sit down restauarants for a 9 year old. I am traveling alone with my 9 year old grandson and want to make sure that he enjoys his meals. He has a healthy appetite, so he will most likely be eating some of my meals as well as his kids meals.

I guess it depends on what he likes to eat, but ....

My kids love eating at the Sci Fi Dine In Theater at Disney Studios ... if only for the atmosphere and cheesy film clips.

They love either of the Japanese restaurants in Epcot's World Showcase, but you get a bit of a show by the chef if you go to Teppan Edo.

They both also enjoy Breakfast with Stitch over at 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort, and my youngest (who is 10) loves Dinner at Chef Mickey's.

Their favourite counterservice location is the Columbia Harbor House at Magic Kingdom. One gets the shrimp and chips and the other likes the fried chicken and fish with broccoli (because he does not like fries much).

Thanks...Teppan Edo and Sci Fi were on my list. I have never been to either of them, so my "try a least 2 new restaurants per trip" is confirmed. Also had Ohana, but have only done dinner there...how is the breakfast?

We aren't too keen on the dinner, but really enjoy the breakfast.

It is all you can eat and it is brought to you. Eggs, sausage, waffles, Pineapple bread, and Stitch is there to add some naughtiness to the whole thing. Even the 16 year old still enjoys it!!

My 9yo son has a healthy appetite as well. Often times we found the kid's meals to be small for him. If you are on the dining plan, I would suggest going to CS restaurants that don't offer a kid's menu such as Casey's at MK. That way, he can get an adult portion. Also, we found that buffets work best for us. There is usually a kid's section at the buffets, which allows everyone to get something they'd like.

I was also going to suggest the buffets if he is a good eater. A child is not restricted to only eating from the kids section of the buffet. nor are adults excluded from using the kids section, I love the Pooh French toast at the Crystal Palace.
