DW and I had our first dinner at Flying Fish last night. We had a 7:45 pm ADR and arrived a minute or two early. Looked like a busy but not too crazy night. We waited for about five minutes when we were called - although by the wrong name. The hostess had pulled the wrong name and was really embarrassed. No worries and were then seated. We had an excellent view of the kitchen.
We are beer brewers so we always look for something different - and we found it. Einstok White Ale from Iceland. Excellent smooth unfiltered ale. It paired well with our dinners.
We shared the yellow fin tuna tartare and tuna/veggie sushi. Three very large and delicious pieces.
I had a cup of clam chowder. Excellent and proper temperature.
DW had the Maine Oak Roasted Sea Scallops and I had the Surf & Surf Special which was bay scallops and a very light whitefish.
We shared a side of asparagus in a cream sauce.
Both of us really enjoyed the food. Excellently prepared seafood.
Service by our waiter Joe was top notch. He was pleasant, funny and ever helpful.
This is a new place (for us) and is now on our list of places to return.
