That said, our 1900 house had plaster walls which have all been replaced. Depended on the upkeep of the house, I bet there are plenty out there that still have plaster walls. There are indeed many advantages to drywall vs. plaster, but they certainly don't build them like they used to.
I dislike the southwest look, but those houses are everywhere here. I really love the old houses. It is true that they do not build them like they used to.

It's not that difficult. You'll need an electric power drill, cordless will do, and a special drill bit to drill holes into the brick or mortar between the bricks. You can get the drill bit and wall anchors to insert into the holes at any hardware store, or even Walmart. Just a little more effort than tapping a nail into drywall, but still a pretty easy job. The biggest impediment to having brick interior walls is the cost; much more expensive for material and labor to install than drywall. Get a price for both and then decide. Tile is also an option for bathroom walls and looks pretty slick.

It doesn't sound so bad when you put it that way. I will compare the options. Thank you so much for the information.

I logged on tonight and looked at the daily thread and my subscribed threads. In almost all of them, I had the last post. I'm secretly the thread killer.

Hope everyone has a happy New Year Celebration. Surely 2021 will be an improvement over 2020!

2020 seemed like a pause. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. Certainly not what you might have expected for an interesting number and a new decade, but hey...were 1999 or 2000 really all that great either? I'm excited for 2021 to get back to life (at some point). I think we are all ready for travel, sports (in person), movies, weddings, graduations, family celebrations and all of lives other wonderful events to rebound. We need it! Happy New Year!

Don't take this the wrong way, but why do people think things will suddenly change just because the calendar says 2021?

I don't think anyone believes that things will change immediately, but the change of the calendar bring a hope for a new beginning. For what went wrong in the previous year to be addressed and made right. The ushering in of the New Year is akin to the proverbial 'light at the end of the tunnel.'

Haha, you know what we are dealing with. Cough, cough...Tom Wolf (and his cronies). I'm sure it's not as bad out west where Cinderelley is.

Thanks for the explanation. Last year wasn't really a bad year in my opinion. I wouldn't say it was an amazing year, but I don't really have that doomsday feeling that some people seem to have. I'm mostly annoyed at all the misinformation I see tossed around by both sides that leads to such antipathy. That isn't going to go away, which probably leads to my attitude that nothing is going to change with the calendar change. :P I don't know who Tom Wolf is, but it sounds like he might be part of the problem.
