Default Warm Weather Getaway, day 1

We woke up to the fabulous view from our room. I forgot to mention how pretty the palm tree lined path connecting the swan and dolphin resorts are, all lit up with fabulous colors are, and that we can see this colorful night time display from our room!
We headed to Mar Queen of the Universe and before mass enjoyed the gorgeous crèche set up in the small Universe chapel. The preschooler insisted that if coins go into the donation box it would cause the peacock statue to move, that it is really animatronics. We let him try on his way out after mass, he was disappointed. He was really challenging during mass, much more than at home, we brought an extra stroller in with us to let him rest (we never do this at home but thought maybe the drama/trauma/excitement) called for this.he was starving for lunch despite taking him out for a snack so we didn't enjoy our usual self tour of the basilica and stopped for lunch at Bahama Breeze. I have to say that this was one of our best meals on the trip. Fresh, delicious and incredibly family friendly. We then drove to. Magic Kingdom's lot and parked close as it was now mid afternoon. We enjoyed the train ride, leaving our strollers behind (mistake) and got off to catch our mine train fast pass. We did the baby swap for the first time and the ride and swap were great. We got some ice cream and waved to pooh and tigger promising we would see them later in the week (on Friday we would go to the Crystal Palace for our much anticipated breakfast). The preschooler asked if we could go to the Castle and we had a fast pass for lunch on Friday. So much to look forward to! It was getting cold, we felt some rain drops and needed to head out for our Boma reservation.
We got to the resort and wow, what a gorgeous lobby and tree! A photographer got some nice shots of us in front of the tree and we went out back to the Savannah. We met a lovely African guide who was so personable and were invited to roast marshmallows by another cast member (our son's first time doing this!) we made it to the Boma desk 3 min late. We had to wait 30 min to be seated, both kids were falling apart by the time we sat down. Apparently there was a delay getting us a highchair? Our server felt bad and didn't charge us for the 4 year old. Usually we love the soups but the squash soup was horrible - it had no seasoning, and felt like thick flour in our mouths. Everything else was very good. I have in the past been blown away by this buffet. Maybe the delay and stress with the kids made it harder to enjoy this time around. After dinner, we headed back to our beautiful resort and enjoyed reflections of fireworks while feeding the baby.
