Default The World with a Hopper and an LVAD

So I totally feel weird posting this, but I am not sure where else I would ask the question. My wife just had an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) implanted last week. She is still in the hospital, but doing nicely. We have a trip planned for November, and are trying to find out if we need to change anything. My wife is otherwise in great shape, but has been significantly restricted over the last year, without the LVAD. Although it is probably a long shot, has anyone on here ever done Disneyworld on an LVAD? How was it? Was a wheelchair needed, or was walking an option?

Also, we have the hopper because it came with the package. We are normally not hoppers as we don't like the down time of travelling between parks. With the LVAD, it seems less likely to me that we will have the speed/stamina to hop. Maybe between MK and EP. Any feedback on how easy it is to Hop at DW? We will be using all Disney transportation.

    Any advice/feedback would be appreciated.

I have never experienced WDW with someone with an LVAD, but I was a telemetry nurse for 5 years. I wouldn't expect her to have enough stamina to park hop or even to stay in one park the whole day. I would plan on taking midday breaks and then you could go to a different park after she napped if you wanted to. A wheelchair would help her conserve her strength and last longer if she is ok with losing a little independence.
Definitely discuss with her doctor what rides she can go on, and you may need to discuss meal options with the chefs at the restaurants depending on her dietary restrictions due to whatever condition caused her to need an LVAD.
Definitely stop at Guest Services and get her DAS access.
When her doctor gives you the ok, you might want to consider going to the local mall and see how long she can handle walking. It will also be good exercise to help prepare her.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I have hopped for many trips. We also do the early afternoon break/swim/nap. We then can to a park refreshed.
