I find this announcement very perplexing. DCL basically bombed when they did cruises out of Galveston last time. And going out of Miami is strange as well, considering that next fall, RCL's Oasis of the Seas will be home ported at Canaveral, bringing some very strong competition for DCL.You would think DCL would want as many ships there as possible.

I guess this is a strategic way for Disney to increase demand out of PC once Oasis arrives, by diverting half the fleet to Miami and Galveston.

The Miami sailings are HUGE with the Latin America market. They fly into MIA and stay in MIA.

Since Galveston is only 4 hours from home, might be a good time to look into a Disney cruise for us. Could be a good Thanksgiving or Christmas trip!

If I remember correctly, the Galveston cruises didn't go to Castaway Cay last time. At least most of their cruises didn't. I remember looking into it when Disney first cruised out of Galveston and we decided against it because we really wanted to visit Castaway Cay.

Default Disney Magic out of NYC

We already emailed Wendy at MJ. We are probably going to do the October 2, 2016 to visit Canada.
We loved the Magic when we were on it in January.

We did the NY-Canada cruise last time they were here, and while it was fun, it was not something I would do twice. I really wish they could do a NY-Bermuda cruise, that would be awesome !!

My parents are avid cruisers and they also did that east coast to Canada cruise and said it was nothing special.

Bermuda is a tough one to do because there is nothing else around it so most ships go there and stay for 3 nights before heading back. Also, Bermuda isn't super kid friendly.

I wish they would do more Hawaii sailings. THAT would be great.
