    Default Skyrush Hersheypark

Hi. I will be going back to Hersheypark in week. I haven't been there since 2011 so this will be the first time there since this ride opened. Can somebody give me the skinny on Skyrush? I want to take my 9 year old on it.

How are the restraints currently? I have heard they aren't as bad as the original ones but still hurt.

How securely are you held in your seat? I know my son will love it but as a dad, I want to make darn sure he is snugly held in place.

    Thanks!

We were just there on Monday last week. My kids ages 9,11, and 13 loved Skyrush. You sit four across with a lap harness only. The middle seats had a floor to rest feet on - the two end seats the feet somewhat dangled. It shoots you quickly up a big hill. We felt very secure on all of the coasters. If your son meets the height requirement, he should be good to go! All of the coasters are blending in my head. By the end of the day, I was done! I hope the boys will be happy with Everest and Rock n Roller Coaster in a couple of weeks! I need dark rides between my coasters. I hope you have a great time!

With only the lap harness resting on my thighs, and being in the outside seat, I felt like I had to hold on for "dear life!" I thought that the new indoor glow coaster was a bit of a disappointment. The fun mirrors in the waiting lines for the new ride are GREAT though.

The glow coaster, from the youtube videos I have seen looks like a Primeval World clone inside and themed to a fun house.

It is hard to tell because it is in the dark but in Kennywood and other places, that ride is placed indoor with a theming.

And as long as one is secure in the seat, I have no problem taking my son on any coaster.

What's funny is when I was my son's age, I was scared of coasters because my folk's are really frightened of them. So, when I was told, when I wanted to ride the Loch Ness Monster, it was dangerous and I could get hurt, I didn't want to ride any coasters for years. My folks told me this when I was around eight year old.

I didn't ride my first "big" coaster until I was about 12 and rode the SuperDooperLooper. So, I refuse to do that to my son and so far he is excited about riding the "big boy" coasters, if he does reach the height limit. And the last I checked, he is oh so close.

It is great to know that someone else has been to the wonderful Kennywood!

Kennywood rocks! We would go at least once a year but generally 2 or 3x as I grew up. Being pooh sized now & not a huge ride enthusiast I haven't been in a while but look forward to going soon (at least kiddie land) with my son. I think Idlewild & Storybook Forest & Daniel Tigers Neighborhood will be more appropriate this year but looking forward to reliving some great childhood memories.

I went there many moons ago when my Godson was maybe 5. We went into Noah's Ark. His dad was thinking this attraction was a nice attraction he remember from being a child.

What he didn't expect was to be the scary parts in it. I remember hold my Godson as he cried when we got off the attraction. His dad and I were actually laughing about it and he calmed down briefly after that.

I don't think I have been there since Revenge of the Phantom has opened. I really can't remember.

I did ride the original Phantom.
