Default A Little Planning Assistance Please....

So -- we are 4 East coasters and long time WDW visitors (and Intercotees) making our 1st trip west to Disneyland next summer! Part of an extended family trip to Hawaii but looking to spend a few days/nights at DL on our way back. Any and all helpful hints/tips/suggestions....must-do's, what to avoid, dining, etc. - its all appreciated. I'm sure my DW will do her usual investigating but we always look here for some guidance. Our 2 DS' will be 16 and 14 for the record....we will probably not get out this way again so we want to make the most of it - mucho thanx!!

    Get park hoppers.

The two parks are right across a courtyard from each other - you don't even need to go through security again to go from one to another. It's very easy to go from one park to the other.

The other thing to mention (because my sister had a problem with it - though this was a few years ago) is to let your bank/credit card company know that you're going to be in Disneyland. For some reason all purchases just come up as 'Disneyland resort.' Our bank puts a freeze on cards that have three or much purchases at the same place in the same day and her card was frozen because they thought it was fraudulent activity.

Do not waste your money on the 'Dining Plan.' It's nothing like the one at WDW. Basically at DL you get vouchers for the amount of money you pay for them. If you don't use everything on the voucher you don't get change back, if you spend more than the amount on the voucher you need to pay the difference.
