Default Man sues Disney for thumb amputation aboard ship.

It's been quite a string of bad PR for the mouse these days it seems. Here's more...

Umm, don't have your fingers/thumb near the door jam? I taught my children that early.
This is no fault of Disney's. Nothing malfunctioned. Just an unfortunate accident.
For me, it doesn't make Disney look bad or negligent.
People are just looking for a quick buck these days.

Maybe he should sue his wife, since she is the one who moved her foot causing the door to close.

He was asking for it. You should never have your hand on a door jamb, especially if the door is prone to slamming and someone has to HOLD it open. Guy is an idiot.

If this is on the up and up, why take 11 months to file suit?

Lest you all think the idea of personal responsibility has gone by the wayside, I bring you this TRUE story from my weekend.

We went to Great Wolf Lodge this weekend for my son's birthday. It is a new location that just opened up near Disneyland. We have a waterproof camera that we always take to waterparks. Our kids LOVE watching POV videos of waterslides, so we brought our camera to add more videos to our collection. It was all going great until we rode this slide called the Howling Tornado, which is one of those slides that has a huge cone looking thing at the bottom that the raft goes up the side and back and forth a few times. When we boarded the raft, the lifeguard told my husband he could not film with the camera (it has a wrist strap) because he had to hold onto the handles at all times. I had told my husband that right before we got in line...I literally said to him "don't video this one, you need to hold on, this ride is really intense." Guess who decided to film anyway? At one point, the hand holding the camera slammed into the plastic handle, hitting the side of his hand below the pinky finger. Even before we got off the raft, he said to me "I think I just broke my finger." I thought he was joking, and I said "that's what you get for not listening to the lifeguard." He was able to bend his finger and it wasn't swollen or anything. We kept on for a couple more hours, and then went home. Next day, hand is swollen up and he decided to go to the ER. His hand is BROKEN! He broke the 5th metacarpal bone straight through! He is in a splint now and seeing the orthopedic doctor today.

I jokingly said "well, now you can sue Great Wolf Lodge for your pain and suffering." His reply was "No way, it was my own fault. I ignored the lifeguard. That's on me." <--- See how easy that is?

Now I'm shopping for Go Pro cameras with chest mounts for the future. We are done filming water slides with a handheld camera!

Maybe YOU should sue for pain and suffering since you're the one taking care of him lol. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Thanks Lynn! He just found out he has to wear a hard cast for 4 weeks. Not horrible, but also really bad timing as he is supposed to be running the Star Wars races in WDW in three weeks! He said "I'm doing those races no matter what the doctor says." He can be kind of stubborn.
