    Question Summer Discounts

It's Summer vacation planning season, and no Summer discounts have been announced by Disney. I do not consider the counter service meal discount for value resort guests a typical Summer discount program.

Are the days of good Summer discounts over for potential guests who wish to stay at the moderate or deluxe resorts?

I've been going do Disney annually for many years, and I'm really amazed at how expensive a Disney vacation has become, especially if you stay at a Disney resort. $500 to $600 per night rack rates for a standard view room at a Deluxe resort. - absurd. I guess they have to fund the Disney Springs, Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land projects - assuming they will be completed anytime soon as currently proposed is another story.

Discounts? Hahahahahahahaha. They just announced price increases on park passes for peak seasons which include summertime. As for those ridiculous resort room rates, they are that high because people are ready and willing to pay those prices. Not me of course, and maybe not you, but plenty of other people apparently are. Otherwise, the price would drop.

If anyone can find you a discount, Magical Journeys can, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Keep your eye on your mailbox. We recently received a pin code which discounted rooms up to 30% and an upgrade on passes to PH at no additional charge. This offer went til the end of August. Unfortunately, 9 month too early for me to use.

....based on what I've been seeing, WDW discounts may have gone from the "few and far between" category ....into the world of the Dodo Bird.

For 2014 and 2015 summer discounts weren't announced until mid-March so there's still hope.

I don't think so. I think there will be summer discounts. We are looking to go first week of august for a few nights to do the waterparks and visit family in Orlando. There is a TON of resort availability. Never seen that much open for that time of year.

Sounds like there is one coming soon. Just hung up with a CM who stated it will be released "very soon" and for me to keep checking the site or call back.
