Default When does Southwest extend schedule?

We are planning a December trip. So far, Southwest is only booking flights into early November. Does anyone have info about when they will extend their schedule?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes. Confirming that the schedule will open on June 2nd, for travel through January 4, 2017. Always subject to change, of course

We're waiting for SW to open for our November visit also. Have been considering Frontier due to their "low" prices. Has anyone ever used them and how was your experience?

Frontier is fine as an airline. However, you must be aware that while they advertise low prices, there are a bunch of gotchas and extra fees that can greatly increase the cost. For instance, they do charge baggage fees (everyone except SWA does), and those fees are pretty steep. To make things worse, they also charge $35-$60 for a carry on. You'll also pay if you want any sort of choice in seating. That's anywhere from $8 to $25 per seat. They do have "package deals" - which pretty much just make the total price comparable to the other airlines.

Personally, one of the reasons I like Southwest is the fact that i know exactly what I'm getting every time. No surprises, no last minute extra costs. With Frontier, if you aren't careful, you could end up at the gate, ready to board with one small carry on, and be slapped with a $60 fee to bring that bag on the plane.

Just make sure you've taken everything into account before you make a decision.

Thanks for your reply. That's what I was thinking. I told my husband today the whole thing with Frontier made me nervous. I'm used to flying Southwest and have had no problems with them. I don't want to be at the gate and hit with a bunch of extra costs. You just helped us make up our minds. Southwest it is! Thanks again!
