Honestly - I cannot recall a Disney experience that I found more diappointing.

Just returned from a wonderful week at the World. I had read the reviews of BoG, but we were traveling with a 12 year old, so there was no way we were going to be able to skip a meal there. We were scheduled for lunch on Thursday.

Pre-order on MDE App did not work at all. It wouldn't connect, although I had no other connectivity issues using the App in MK at all.

Queue to place order was over 1/2 hour wait. Items on the MDE version of the luncheon menu were not offered. Changes had to be made.

The dining room was like a cattle call. We were a party of 6 and sat at a long table. The dirty dishes left from the guests who departed the table adjacent to ours sat there for most of our meal. The lighting was that dim kind of light which was just "off". It was hard to see if the food presentation was actually appetizing. The food is served on "china" with "silverware", but the silverware stations aren't near the beverage stations, so you have to scurry around in a crazy and LOUD dining room finding the items that you need for your meal, after you have scurried around to find a table to suit your party.

The food was okay. In my opinion, some really puzzling choices for a restaurant that NO ONE is going to for the food.

We ate the got out of there as quickly as possible. I have lingered longer over a much more enjoyable meal at Pecos Bills at mid-day than that meal at BoG. I think the thing that I resented most about the BoG experience is that it was so NOTHING - and because it was in the Beast's Castle, we were not going to be able to get through this trip without an opportunity to get inside and thus the need to have a meal there. I will never ever go back.

I have to say our experience for lunch at BOG was very similar to yours. Most expensive counter service we have ever eaten and not very good. So what if they deliver the food to the table on a fancy rolling cart and get to eat in a room with decoration effect that were not even working the day we ate there. For lunch BOG is off my list. For dinner I have gone before and would go again if the rest of our family would want to, left up to me not so much.

There is supposed to be a decoration effect? Didn't experience that either.

I hate to say that I feel the same way. We were there Memorial Day week and the parks were busy, but that was no excuse not to have enough staff to clear tables. Our party of 5 walked around for about 15 minutes waiting for a table to be open and cleaned. The food was "ok", nothing to brag about. I also didn't notice any special effects going on, except for a lot of noise. The drink area and utensil area should have been close to each other, that definitely didn't make sense....we weren't the only people confused, the table next to us was looking around trying to figure it out also. I think for the amount of money you pay for lunch, when delivering your meal to you, they could have the silverware and napkins on their cart.

Glad we tried it, but will not be returning.

When BOG first opened and you had to have the fast pass to get in we had lunch and pre ordered on line. It went very well since we had pre ordered as we were seated right away. Everything was clean and tidy as is should be and we were on the dining plan so no out of pocket for us.

I have had dinner there twice and the most recent was last Sept. We had a late sitting at 9 pm and I was really disappointed in the food and service. The worst of the food was the bread roll they were hard a stale. To top that off I noticed something on the floor at the feet of the family seated a table across from us. After watching it for a bit I realized that it was a BIG COCKROACH... Yuck..

I was turned off and really did not want to come back but my lady friend said she has never eaten there so we will be dining there this Sept. I will try to give a review at that time.

I must say that the first time we had dinner there I think in the first year it was open was great and had no complaints at all.

Stand by for news in Sept our next trip...

I've eaten 4 meals at BOG. Only one was dinner, and it was within a couple of months of the opening. That experience, being the first, was outstanding. I was amazed at how like the movie the interior is. I felt like I had stepped into a scene of Beauty & the Beast. The food & service were great, although I thought the menu a little pretentious and portions were on the small side for the price. I've had Quick Service there 3 times. My first QS experience was when it was still Fastpass only, but I got a special invitation to try the pre-order service, so I didn't have to use a FP there (I wouldn't have!) I went through the website and pre-ordered meals for all 6 of us, then stood in the line for 20 minutes only to be told that the pre-order wouldn't come up. All 6 of us had to order everything again, which took forever. We had no trouble finding a table, and on a rainy & chilly day at MK, it was nice to have refillable hot cocoa nearby. We lingered a long time that day! The 2nd experience was with my mom & sister after BOG started taking ADRs for lunch. The line was again about 20 minutes long, which was hard for my mom. She was on a scooter (2 hip replacements) and doesn't like to stand for long periods. They loved the food. I was disappointed that the Master's Cupcake is no longer Oreo & icing together. Now it's just grey frosting and doesn't taste the same. The food was okay, but not worth the cost if you're not on the DDP. The last time I ate there was in May with my husband. Again, it was decent food and we enjoyed the cool, dark atmosphere of the West Wing (is that the right name for it? Where the Beast's portrait and the dying rose are & the lightning flashes?) I can't say that it's my favorite QS at Magic Kingdom or that it's worth the hype. I wish they'd make it a TS meal for breakfast & lunch, honestly. I haven't been able to get a dinner reservation there since it opened!

Another vote for disappointed, at least for the CS lunch. We went at a time with an email, pre-order appointment. Even with the pre-order working to almost perfection, it was still an overall failure. The decor was beautiful, but even that is not enough to rope me into a return visit.

It was difficult to find a table and once you did, the scene could be compared to sharks circling each table just waiting for an opportunity to ask if you are done eating so that another family can have your table. You felt rushed and awkward the entire time while eating. As noted previously, the silverware and drink stations were difficult to get to and crowded.

Beautiful restaurant, but only worth one visit per every 10 years in my opinion.

So sorry to hear about all the bad experiences. My son and I went to BOG shortly after they started taking ADR's for lunch and enjoyed it very much (we had the French Onion Soup, Braised Pork and Croque Monsieur). I will say that even then the seating situation was strange and a bit uncomfortable. There seemed to be a lack of small tables (for two and even four), so we ended up sitting at the end of a table for six and eventually a family of four asked if they could sit in the other seats. No big deal except they seated the little ones (probably 3 and 5 years old) next to us, so we spent the rest of our meal dodging little heels kicking and sticky hands! I think it would be better if they would have some cast members seating people.

We have been for dinner, lunch and breakfast and never had a bad experience. I just made our reservations for Christmas Eve breakfast and can't wait to introduce our son and daughter in law to the BOG!

We've had one dinner and one breakfast there, and as far as the breakfast went, I'm right there with the OP. The food was bad to meh, and the price was ridiculous for what you got! The person who brought our food to us was definitely NOT happy to be there. We sat in the West Wing, which at least made a bad breakfast a little more fun. Breakfast was just a huge letdown.

Dinner was okay. Good, but definitely not great. Sitting in the main ballroom during the Christmas holiday was nice, but it was terribly loud. We were even at a table right up near the windows and Christmas tree (near the end of the room), and it was STILL incredibly loud. Portions were very small. The taste was good, but nothing we had was at all memorable.

I ate dinner there in March and was very pleased. I made reservations on the MDE app same day. The food was great and the service was great! The main dining area was a bit noisy but overall we were very pleased. I have reservations for lunch in September.....hoping for another positive experience!

We have eaten at BoG for lunch and dinner. We tried to pre-order our lunch, but that didn't work so we waited in line for about 15 minutes and placed our order again. The food was nothing to write home about. Dinner was VERY disappointed. The seafood pastry I ordered was more pastry than anything else and the sauce had no flavor at all. We were rushed by our waiter, Frankie. He seemed to just want to get us out of there so he could make more money from the next table seating.

This is the worst dining experience we have ever had. We will not be returning any time soon. I don't want to say we'll never go back because we have grandchildren and perhaps in a few years we'll take them there.

I had the same entrée, and felt the same. I think it had 2 shrimp in it, maybe a scallop, veggies, and lots of pastry that had a very hard bottom and was difficult to cut.

We plan on going to BOG for dinner August 2017 for our daughter sweet sixteen. Bellies her favorite princess. I was looking at the menu. There is nothing that she would eat. Does anyone know if they would make a pasta with Butter dish for her.

I had lunch there over a year ago. I loved the atmosphere and the food and service were very good. I am disappointed to hear it seems to be going downhill!

Our family of four(DH, DS4, DS2, and myself) are planning on going here for our last supper of our trip in Nov. Is dinner any better than lunch experiences? We have been there for lunch with DS4 when he was 18-mo old and we had a great experience. I hope dinner is better.

This is what happens when the exaggerated hyperbole (can that be a thing?), both from within Disney and especially on social media (including this site), makes a place an absolute "must do" for guests to the degree that it can't possibly be missed. The resulting overwhelming popularity puts an immense amount of pressure on Disney to serve as many guests as possible during mealtimes. Declining food quality and poor customer service is exactly what you'd expect to happen in this situation. Trying to serve as many people as possible in a limited time period will always result in poor service, lack of cleanliness and declining food quality. Because of the hype, guests go to BOG with "off-the-chart" expectations for a TS quality dining experience and instead get a "cattle-call" CS eating experience. It's no wonder there are a lot of disappointed diners. It's actually more enjoyable to have an overcrowded, messy, loud, chaotic lunch at a CS place, when that's what you are expecting in the first place. At BOG, the hyped-up expectations of guests are way beyond what people are actually going to experience, the design and decor notwithstanding.
IMHO Disney would be better off to do away with CS at BOG, and make it reservation/ADR only, even though it would mean fewer guests could experience it. The guests who were lucky to get in would be more likely to experience good customer service and better food quality.

I had heard a lot of bad reviews about Be Our Guest, so I wasn't expecting much when we went. We had a lunch ADR, and it did still take about 20 minutes to get through the line. I thought the food was pretty good. We were with a 3 and 6 year old. We ate in the West Wing and they were amazed with how it was decorated. It would "thunder" and show the Prince turning to the Beast in his portrait. They were so excited to see the enchanted rose as well.
So if you don't go in with super high expectations, I think it can be an enjoyable experience.
