Default Cruise to Canada in fall?

Has anyone ever cruised to Canada and New England in the fall. I have family that is considering on of these itineraries and I was just wondering can you swim on the ship? Can you go on the aqua-duck? IS it too cold to do these things in September especially since you are cruising north?

Interesting question as we are doing this cruise in a couple of weeks on a Royal Caribbean ship. I have no idea if we can swim on the ship or not, but I hope we can but won't be disappointed if we can't. We are more interested in the ports of call for sightseeing and just getting away for a vacation!

I have, but not on a Disney Ship. It really all depends on what weather is coming through. Once it was cold and foggy, definitely not pool weather (pool was empty basically) and the next time it was gorgeous during the day, but nights got really chilly.

There is no good way to predict weather that far out.

Sorry to respond so late to this thread. We did the October 2nd sailing of the Disney Magic from NYC to St. John's and Halifax and we swam every day. The pools are heated and the Aqua dunk was open even though we didnt do it. The air was a bit chilly so if you have a good hoodie you can put on as soon as you get out of the water, you will be fine. What we did is we bought a cruise long pass to the Rainforest and went there before swimming. In the changing room, they have nice big towels instead of the smaller towels at the pool area. They also have BATHROBES which you can take with you and use that when you get out of the pool. The adult pool area is right outside of the Spa on the Magic.
