In my neck of the woods - very upscale and a beautiful resort. Definitely can be first class especially with special add ons as can be found at similar locations across country. Golf course is excellent according to friends who play often however the course at Oakmont is much stricter and more difficult. Not sure what kind of specifics you are looking for. Best time to visit - fall IMHO to take in all the scenic views.

If you weren't a golfer, wanted to know about the different amenities, anything standout specifically and how the area is and dining.
Glad you mentioned the fall timeframe, because that is when we are expecting to travel. Is the middle of November past fall colors in that area?

Usually middle of November would be a little late but it truly depends on the weather. This year, we had no standout fall foliage weeks were it was all bright and colorful. It was spread out - green & cm some color and eventually some color and some bare.
Standout activities - the spa is top notch but nothing that is specific to the area. There are beautiful walking trails and you could always go off site and see the sights. I do caution you that hunting is a big thing here in W. PA and the earlier you could be here in November the safer I would feel about exploring the woods, etc. More and more hunting goes on as you near the end of the month.
The food, I hear, is amazing and there are many options in and around the resort. If you havwe not visited the area before I would suggest soending at least one day/evening in the city. We have beautiful museums and the Pittsburgh skyline is magnificent. And the food options from atop Mt. Washington cannot be beat. The only negative I heard about the resort is that it is often booked for private affairs and thereby parts are restricted to the average visitor.
If you watched this past season of the Bachelorette on ABC they showed some of Nemacolin. Including renting of the private cabins/jacuzzi out in the middle of no where.
